Lionel Messi - v7

Barca fans wants that Messi leaves barca

To be honest, he should have left last season. We could have been in much better shape financially.

I have a few concerns. If he stays and we're doing shit, what kind of Messi are we going to get? He best not moan when he had his chance to leave this summer. Also, a front 3 of Aguero, Depay and Messi is going to be awful. I feel we're using most of our salary budget to keep Messi here when we could have used it on other important areas.

I get that Messi is still an amazing player, but we have to move on eventually. It's like these presidents can't let go. They're basically making a 34-year-old Messi the future of the club.

We were never in the title race last season. Atletico made it close because they were choking at the time. Also, Laporta bangs on about us playing well in the 2nd leg against PSG, but PSG took their foot off the gas after being 4-1 up. We were never in that tie. Besides, Messi wants to win the Champions League. Our squad next season is one year older and isn't that much improved; Garcia, a 33-year-old injury-prone Aguero, Depay and Emerson aren't going to make us that competitive. Before you say, "oh, we can't afford to spend any money and that's the best we can get in our current situation." I get that. But Messi has no right to moan if we're struggling next season. He had his chance to move in the summer.

And yes, Messi was still shaking his head, waving his hands and moaning on the pitch when the results weren't going our way at the end of last season. Say we start the season awfully and do terribly in the Champions League, what Messi are we going to get? We know Messi is okay when things are going okay..... but it's when things are not going well is when he voices his opinion. I'm just saying, he can't blame anyone but himself if we're struggling next season. Bartomeu isn't here anymore to take the blame.

I won't even reply to this xxxxxx buffoon anymore. It's like football players shouldn't express emotions on the pitch, in the heat of the match.

It appears I've upset some people. I do apologize.

You're very pessimistic.

Lighten up some man. Even if Atletico were choking we were still in the title race, so were Real Madrid. Neither of us could capitalize on their mistakes. I don't think Atletico were superior statistically either. They were just way more clinical than any other team while our defence was awful.

With a healthy Ansu, Memphis and hopefully Aguero proving more clinical than Braithwaite even if his legs are gone...we'll be better next season. If we can upgrade at CB and CM/DM we could even be favorites for the title.

Champions League is another story. Need more significant upgrades to the team and squad there.

La liga should be in the bag, i mean with a healthy ansu we would have easily won it last season. Now we have a (hopefully) health ansu + Depay. I have a bad feeling on aguero but lets see.

Unfortunately, I've come to learn that pessimism is realism when it comes to Barca post EV

What I don't get is if Messi is so concerned about the project, why is he committing before Laporta has conducted any real transfer business? Why not wait a bit and see what opportunities come up. Does he not know about leverage/keeping options open? Between this and letting his break clause expire last summer based on 'gentleman's agreement', I've gotta say he's lucky he is good at football. I know janitors who have a better sense of planning/forward thinking...dumber than a pile of rocks this lad.
