Lionel Messi - v7

All time South American Goalscorers:

Pele: 77
Messi: 76

Would be fairytale if Messi scores one against Colombia and breaks the record against Brazil in the final (like Klose did with Ronaldo's WC record)

Neymar will likely catch Messi in total international goals, so its not exactly a perfect comparison.

Would be sitting on 120+ goals if he got to play against Lithuanian, Macedonian, and Azerbaijan farmers every qualifiers.

Definitely a free agent player we should make an offer for.

Great player but a bit too old. We should make an offer similar to the one we made Depay and hope he wants to play for Barcelona just like Depay did.

5m for two seasons sounds fair

Just hope PSG don't swoop in and double the offer like with Wijnaldum.

This past Monday, Laporta explained the economic effort Bar?a will have to do to renew Leo Messi. Mateu Alemany went in detail explaining every move, also mentioning that multiple footballers will have to have their contracts terminated.

This kind of news is starting to come out. Heck, how is he going to face his teammates next season knowing that the reason half his friends got their income lower because of him.

Where is the source that says players lowered their wages for Messi ?

It's an easy story. Players taking paycuts for Messi when they have to take paycuts anyway (or need to get transfered/terminated).

It is not easy story. It will be easy if Messi contract has not yet run out.

Messi has already taken a pay cut yet not enough for FFP.

Now, the narrative has changed, the pay cut players might have to take may be because of a free agent Messi? Maybe the pay cut won't be this much if it is not because of Messi?

And people seem to have misconception about contract termination. We cannot just terminate contract without paying the players some penalty. Let say they still have 3 years left of their contract, termination today may require us to pay them 1 or 2 year worth of salary depends on negotiation.

Yes, we have taken out a loan for that but still it will be viewed as money spent taken into account of FFP.

Few Things:
It isn't just free agent Messi, that isn't correct. We can't register free agent Depay, free agent Eric, back from loan Emerson unless massive wage reduction happens.
Club can't be hold hostage by their own players.

-Our problem isn't UEFA ffp, but with Liga ffp.
With the later, the problem with it is wage. That is why we accept direct losses over paying wages.

-Terminating contract means player will have to go to court, payment will be delayed, and whatever new contract they sign with any other team it will be deducted from current contract payment.

-They can't just enjoy happy salary and go for vacation, or sign for free, otherwise we will sue them for intentionally harming the club. So they need to seriously look for offers and get their market value, and then we will pay the difference.

So, all in all, this will save us money for sure, and save us trouble with Liga ffp

No you stated something as a fact, now where is the source ?

🚨 ⚠️ Several Bar?a heavyweights will not reduce their salary for Messi to renew his contract according to their lawyers. They say: "What is signed, is signed". Sergi Roberto and Busquets haven't received a call from Laporta to negotiate their renewals (via @victor_nahe) FCBarcelonaFl

Here is the source you want. From yesterday.

💰 Bar?a have 8 strikers on the team, 4 of them are untouchable: Messi, Ag?ero, Depay, Ansu. With Messi's renewal, about 200M euros will have to be freed to comply with LaLiga regulations (via @lesportiuCAT FCBarcelonaFl

And here is the salary reduction we need.

And here is the link to our player wage.

Do the math yourself. How much pay cut players need to take. This list has not yet includes Aguero, Garcia, Depay and Emerson

When a twitter account like FCBarcelonaFl & V?ctor Navarro... is your source, you don't stated as a fact.
