Imagine leading an entire decade of top tier European football in BOTH goals and assists.

And both by colossal margins (CR7 in scoring excepted).

EV fucking robbed him of a 5th CL last season. I'm still livid.

I absolutely agree with you, especially on the last part of your post.

Anyway, I am sure that if someone is going to pull off a raking for the most dribblings completed during the decade in the top 5 leagues and CL Messi would easily be on top as well.

So:

Top scorer of the decade: Messi
Top assistman of the decade: Messi
Top dribbler of the decade: for sure would be Messi again
Top FK taker of the decade: Messi

Basically, any offensive statistic that a football player can have from the midfield onward is dominated by this man.
And still there are some retards around who dare to say that Lionel Messi is not the best player by A HUGE MARGIN in activity today.

Nobody of the players currently playing, bar Messi, can be even remotely considered in a "best ever" argument, because they all lack the required technique and skills.
Messi is the only one currently in activity who can sit at the table of the few very best ever of football, as in fact he is head and shoulders above the rest of the current generation.

Benzema is fairly close to Suarez career wise. Almost equal.

You have Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Suarez, Benzema as the top 5 forwards of the decade.

Utter insanity.

Benezma has always been a top class player and a consistent producer throughout his career, but he cannot lace peak Suarez's boots. Luis at his best was a top 3 X-factor in world football and obscenely prolific in front of goal.

I suspect there is some serious revisionism and recency bias going on at your end. These past two seasons where Suarez's overall play has taken a hit and Benezma has boosted his goal scoring record are skewing your perspective massively here.

Benezma has a much better CL goal-scoring record, but that is mainly due to the lad playing his entire prime out on a club that dominated the competition on route to a historic dynasty. In fact he never scored more than 6 goals in a single CL campaign. He has consistently compiled the stats over the years while being an excellent player. Nothing more, nothing less.

Suarez was the calibre of footballer you could win everything with as your best player. Benzema is not in that same class. I'd take Augero over him for what he's accomplished in the PL. Their CL goal-scoring ratios are almost identical and Sergio has much superior international stats while playing in South America.

Suarez is statistically the 3rd best player of the decade, only Messi and Ronaldo have more goals+assists than him.

in term of the overall Career individually Kareem is not half the player Suarez is !!

I think Benzema super overshadowed over those sex tape allegations and always bending over for Ronaldo to make him look better, plus they are at the same age with Suarez but Benzema is looking unreal in comparison.

The dribbling comparison is the most extreme of all. He has more than double the successful dribbles than the 3rd best (Ney) in the last decade. This guy year after year is the best dribbler, passes and shooter of a football in the world, all at the same time. The three main facets of attacking football.

In my opinion other legends only ever achieved a maximum of 2 of these 3 facets in terms of being the best of their generation. Messi is the first and only to master them all.

That makes him quite clearly the greatest footballer ever, by a distance.

I think people forget how good Suarez was. Have people forgotten how he almost won the epl single handedly under Rodgers scoring wonder goal after wonder goal ever other week? How Liverpool sank when he left?

He had a few seasons where he was legitimately better than Ronaldo, can anyone ever say that about Benz? Comparing him to Benz on here is disrespect of the highest order. He was on a completely different level altogether.

I don't know. The only season I thought Suarez was better than CR7 was 15/16 (58 goals was it?). 13/14 was Suarez's absolute peak and he went on a tear in the EPL but CR7 put up a huge campaign in the CL (17 goals I believe).

I agree that Suarez's peak was a different level than Benz's peak. But Benz has been at the top for longer in my opinion, and is the more technically sound player.

Has Suarez ever been ballon dor nominated? Until his mid-barca days he has been the most hated guy in world football.
