I remember like 7/8 years ago people trying to predict his future goal total. He would be at like 20/25 season goals at this point thinking how it would be extremely good if end up with 700g,300a. Messi has had great longetivity so far.still easily the best player in the world and wilk easily surpass those numbers.

Pele counted goals he scored in the military,friendlies and playing with Stallone in that movie. He isnt over 1000. Otherwise gerd muller would have 1400.

Its difficult to have concensus on the criteria but this list is often looked at:

I think Leo leads it if he plays long enough. Allthough I could see Ronaldo not retiring before Messi to make sure he outscores him.

To be honest I dont really rate pre 70's goalscorers considering the state of the game and opposition played.
To me when it cones to output the best goalscorers ever are Messi,Ronaldo, Gerd Muller and Romario.

Also a few active plagers that have great numbers for strikers: Zlatan, Lewa, Suarez and Aguero are going strong as well.
