In the past few games, he has been a liability. Cannot shoot, does not press, loses the ball while dribbles, tries ridiculous through balls that do not come through. His Hollywood passes are consistently shite these days. His work rate is so low that he simply does not bother to counterattack these days. Messi used to score so many goals on the break. Sadly, this is due to age.

It's so annoying to watch him stop our chances at counter attacking, he just stands there, demands the ball and slows the game down so the other team has plenty of time to regroup, it's absurd...

This is so freaking annoying. Slows the play down every single time in the counter. Why is no one telling him to make runs?!

Fair enough to drop in midfield when Barca builds from the back, but come on.. make some fucking runs Leo on the counter.

I am seeing something completely different . A troublesome season and hes just overcoming the covid break. He combined a lot, dribbled into the box a lot, some great passes and crosses. He created a lot of danger just waits a bit too long to shot.

Of course he still has great moments. That is inarguable. The issue is that he is not producing enough goal contributions for us to put up with him completely disrupting our attack and the entire setup of the team. This has been going on before the COVID break too. For Leo to continue playing the way he plays now he needs to put up 3 goal contributions a match. It is not worth giving up a functional front line if he cannot.

He stands in the middle of the park roaming wherever he pleases and every ball is filtered through him at the pace he likes to play at. He needs to change his game, produce more, or frankly he can feck off for all I care. Nobody is bigger than the club.

Yea, one of the biggest problems. Like, some faster players in the team, drive forward, and instead of pushing himself to offer them solutions in the counter, he drops, and the players immediately activate the breaks and the counter is dead.

Because when Messi signals you he wants the ball, you are basically forced to give him the ball. The problem is he looks for the ball in ways that is hurting the team in a lot of moments. Especially in fast transitions. He is one of the reasons why our transition game is crap and we turn almost all attacks into slow positional attacks.

Not his best game, but great penalty, and that shot in the first half hit the outside of the post, bit unlucky there.
