Lionel Messi - v7

Maybe if we had won that CL I would’ve accepted that he would be struggling with motivation, but that sadly didn’t work out. We know how badly he wants to win that CL trophy one last time, as he has stated so many times already. I simply think he has given up on this team being able to help him win it. He, just like us, has realized that we don’t have a team capable of winning it, and therefore he wants out. That is affecting his performances in a negative way. I mean, it all makes sense with all the exit rumors we have seen in the past weeks.

OK, but if that's so, then that's basically a sign that he needs to leave. If he doesn't believe in the team there's no point in staying. Other than the huge money he takes in every year.

If that is his attitude then best for all that he leaves.

I dont believe that he wants to leave but he will use his power to get what he wants and stay at Barca.

No he doesn't want out. Anything you hear about him moving to another European club in the tabloid rags is utter rubbish. He might not like it much here anymore, but he is too comfortable in Barcelona to go seeking a new project elsewhere at this stage in his career. Worst case scenario he simply retires at the end of the next season, which would not be the worst thing in the world for the club.

Barca beat average Lyon and Man Utd sides in CL it was no miracle to get to Liverpool and more than Messi were responsible for that.

It was all Messi and luck that game. Rest of the team was nothing special that night, which has been the case for a long time, but it’s first now since the restart that Messi has gone the same way.

Also, let's not forget the money aspect. We're all kidding ourselves if we think these players love the club so much that money doesn't matter. Money is among the first priorities, if not the first.

As long as he takes in huge money for so little effort... why would he leave?

Messi did no put in some unreal performance V Liverpool bar that free kick.

Even Suarez scored and hit bar which contributed to another.

It was not all Messi or some all time great Messi game other than the FK which was top class.

Yeah as long as we have Messi we can't rebuild. It's like giving up when Bulls had Michael Jordan(big mistake). The rebuild starts when he leaves.

If this is his attitude and how he plays these days then he'll need to halve his wages and then some.. 33 years old, physically declining is really not worth it anymore

I'd sell him and Suarez. terminate Raki's contract this summer, fuck waiting another year for them to bleed our finances dry.

I hate to say it but everything the haters used to bash him with is true in regards to the end of his career. hes the GOAT for me but its kinda hard to look past his leadership or lack thereof when you have Maradona

It's real shame. National team failures broke him.

yup I would agree with that. its depressing to think he could of rep'd Spain and have a Euro and a World cup medal.. Argentina never appreciated him as he was a challenge to Maradona

I mean he has been in a WC final, 3 Copa finals and did feck all in all of them. Argentina did not score a single goal in any of those matches. It's not for a lack of opportunities to win silverware with Argentina. Luck was not on his side, but his performances in those matches were not good either.

Who the fuck cares about what he did for Argentina? This is Barca and this is NOW.

He is a professional player. Man the fuck up and earn what they are paying you.
