Lionel Messi - v7

I dont get why people always say 2 seasons or something just because of his age.
If you look at how he is playing he can easily continue for more years.

If I remember correctly he can only use that clause for a team outside of Europe top leagues.
Which means Newells basically. They are poorly run, he is unpopular in Argentina as it is and has little kids who live in barcelona and have friends there at school.

He is too much of a family man to pick a challange over comfortability.
Otherwise he would have left to the epl years ago.
I also cant see him join Beckham’s mls team (allthough this would be smart imo.
He is not bothered by injuries either.

At best he might use this to force the 2021 elections jn a way. Then it will be a new project with new goals.
In a way I feel Barto is scared of Messi’s power and did the neymar thing as a “see im on your side but it didnt work out unfortunately” ploy.

People can't actually believe this media bs. Please think.. How would they know if Messi was angry? Did he tell them? Why would he tell them?

News like that are just clickbait. They have no information whatsoever. Literally bulshit out of their asses.

And I wanted to add this. We are talking about an extremely shy and introverted person. All that little dictator stuff is so out of character.
You can't believe that the same guy who we accuse of not being vocal enough as a leader, has an alter ego that is demanding transfers and lineups.

dude that has just been proven with this new one-sided release clause! as if the last world cup with the revolt against the coach wasn't telling enough.

I doubt Messi is this dictator that the media are imagining. If he was like that he would show more leadership in big moments. It is actually the other way around imo. He doesn't get involved as often as he should.

Like the moment Dembele missed that 4-0 goal vs Liverpool. A dictator type would have went absolutely nuts there. Messi just layed on the grass being more disappointed than anything.

What was proven? Based on what? Media BS again?

PS: Did you figure out what an oracle is?

The fact he has a clause in his contract to be able to retire or leave for an Argentinian club every year after this one is not very promising.

The club only being confident in him staying for two more years is very alarming as well.

It is clear at this point he is not going to stay here beyond age 35. 3-4 seasons at the very most left of Leo.

Explains why we wanted Neymar, purely to keep Messi happy.

I'm starting to tire of Messi and his demands. He's the reason the pub player Suarez is still here and that total fraud of a coach.

Barca has become an old boys club. the old guard need replacing one by one but how are we supposed to replace them if we aren't getting transfer fees for them?

The fact Messi can leave next summer means he has all the power. He'll pick who the coach is next season, keep Suarez and the fraud and sign Neymar. If he does leave for free it's a disaster as well.

Too much is being made about this clause. Xavi and iniesta had the same clause, basically can leave on a free as long as its not to a club in a top 5 European league, which explains why xavi went to qatar and iniesta to japan. I think its there to give messi the option to play for newells old boys back in argerntina if he wants to later in his career.

This again? It's like talking to brick walls sometimes.
Please don't read too much in media speculations.
No player has that kind of power. At 33 to 34 years old, even more so.
The board decides everything. They handle the money and the sporting decisions. The board kept Valverde. Even if all players wanted to keep him, which I doubt, Barto could let him go. Players followed the board's line, and supported the manager publicly, as they should do, or the hierarchy would be broken.

Messi is not leaving.

He knows full well there's no better club for him to be. Especially in his age and the mechanisms that need to be in place to compensate for his off-the-ball movement.

We're a perfect symbiosis. Messi probably needs us as much as we need him, especially since he's grossing nearly 100 million a year anyway.

I wonder if the clause covers China. If CSL clubs were willing to pay Gareth on-Bale 1m/week, imagine what they will offer Messi.
