Lionel Messi - v7

Truly an idiot.

That would be fucking dumb. Much better to let him go now and take maybe some good players and some money, than lose him for free next year. It's not like we're winning the CL with Messi next season .

Not from Barto's pov.

I gurantee he is thinking let the next board lose Messi not my problem if I win another treble or at least the league my legacy is secure not as the president who lost Messi

Huge interest Lewa wanted to go to Real Madrid and they naturally wanted him as the CR7 replacement

The fact he was replaceable means nothing Bayern still said no you're not leaving.

Psg did the same to Neymar

Ronaldo said he was a leave at United and even they said tough you're not leaving this year

none of those players were gods at their teams. none were raised by those teams and not one of them represented this much for those cities. messi and barcelona are on another level when it comes to connection.

Luis Suarez is second for most big chances missed in Europe's top 5 leagues since the 2015/16 season.
The Uruguayan has missed 121 big opportunities for scoring a goal.
Robert Lewandowski (132) leads the way while Edinson Cavani (106), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (103) and Cristiano Ronaldo (97) complete the top-5.

Why are you even surprised? He's a politician that want to control the narrative.

Compare how favourably he is portrayed by MD and Sport compared to Laporta in 2008 and 2009.

Yep. Saw a tweet showing multiple covers from back then with Laporte front cover and them slating him. Hasn’t been anything like that for Barto.

LMFAO stop if that was true Messi wouldn't leave us when we're in the shits.

He would be loyal to the club that's been loyal to him. We rejected offers from AC Milan and countless other clubs and developed him into the best of all time with a winning team.

He owes the club nothing beyond fulfilling his contract just as we owe him no special privilege to leave for free prematurely

Bartomeu's resignation will not cause Messi to stay, because the sports project would remain the same. Right now the intention is to NOT appear for the PCR tests on Sunday, on the advice of his lawyers. @totcosta

stunning, we want blood

It's not about sporting project. It's about the rebuild. A rebuild takes time and Messi's time is running out. He doesn't want to stick around and help rebuild the side. Which is fair and can't be blamed for that.

At this point probably Messi prefers a team that is nearly finished and with him joining can challenge hard for CL.

From Barto's poijt of view the only thing he will be remembered for until the end of time is being the one who sold Messi.

I think he would rather commit Seppuku than let that happen. For that reason Messi stays

If he thinks that he's delusional. He will be remembered as the guy who wasted goat's prime years. Messi staying or leaving won't change that.

Waiting a year is not a good option for them, considering Messi is not young. Especially when looked at the pressure City is in next season to regain the title from a great Liverpool and to challenge for CL. Both parts should work on finding a good deal and finalize this.

Yeah, the longer they wait the more it becomes a vanity/marketing deal.

But if Messi does stay a season, then he will have all the presidential candidates fighting for him to stay also which can be very lucrative financially. Let's hope Suarez does not complete 60%+ games in that scenario.
