no ballon d or. i remember when ronaldo campaigned hard in the first 3 months of the season (last three months of the calendar year) and actually won a ballon d or he had no business winning. so these three months mattet a lot.

that was the fifa ballon d'or tough also voted by players and coaches not just the press, Ribery still won the press vote back then (just like Sneijder in 2010)

Is anyone 100% certain where we are up to as regards the Balon Dor / World player awards ??
I thought Messi and Ronaldo were tied on 5 awards each with the upcoming Balon Dor being crucial IF one of them were to win it .

I’ve seen quite a few reports suggesting that Messi has taken the lead (6:5) after the award he won the other evening but that was NOT a Balon Dor !?!?
