1- cr is still the CL goat
2- messi is well below MJ as are all other athletes. no achievemnt in soccer comes close (ie 2x CL trepeat or 3x wc x 2)

diff sports of course so the comparison isnt easy but in terms of overall greatness the case is pretty simple-- did x player achieve their respective sports biggest trophy, biggest individual accolade, and how often?

MJs mvps, finals mvps, and 2x 3peat >>>>> messi


also take into account that MJ didnt play for one of the 'great' teams like the lakers or celtics. he took chicago to the very top and held them there for a decade.
