Could have easily stayed on. Team can cover for one player that doesn't run that much, especially of his quality. We kept Busquets the legless mongoloid instead.

Indeed. This team with kounde, araujo, christensen in the back, fdj gavi and pedri in mf and him in attack would be enough to get us to cl quarter finals at least. Still cant believe that busquets, pique and alba stayed(and on that wage too) and him gone. Time will tell, but i still think that messi from 2019 was the best version of him. We almost won a cl with 2 walking corpses in imhotep and suarez, vidal on his last legs, rakitic who sold his soul for world cup and backline that was a total laughing stock for a half a decade and mats who shitted his pants frequently. Fuck you barto, fuck you laporta

No, it wouldn't be enough... With Messi in this team, you automatically have to surrender one midfielder or one attacker.
If you surrender one attacker, the either you play strikerless or without wings -> ergo, all Barca problems in the EV years
If you surrender a midfielder, let's say Gavi, you would have better passes into the final third, and opportunities to score outside the box, but a black hole in pressing and defending, and no movement in attacks
Let alone the whole different problem of crippling any plan of buildup as the ball would always have to go through his legs

Deal with it people: Messi was part of the problem, not of the solution. And all these takes that see him independently of the state of the EV team are clueless. Part of the reason we played like that is Messi himself

After the World Cup, logic and rationality have just completely gone out of the window.

It's just very shameless and in-your-face now.

I always pictured this reality since day 1 though so not surprised. Don't bother with the tactical explanation. Keep it as simple and basic as possible.

Apparently they are organising a friendly for PSG and Al Nassr(and another Saudi team's combined 11).....

Old news. Marcelo Gallardo will coach 'Riyadh Season Team' consisting of Al Nassr and Al Hilal players. Rudi Garcia said CR would make his debut in this game.

"Messi doesn?t have any problem about not getting a tribute by PSG. He understands the situation of beating France in the final. Leo doesn't need more. He is happy for winning the World Cup and now he wants to enjoy the second part of the season with his club."

"Messi understands there could be some French people who could be bothered about it, though, a big standing ovation is expected when PSG speaker will announce his name"
