I guess those stories about him , that Dibu used to tell are true. How everyone ,even the president of the country shuts up when he talks.

Was a different breed these past weeks , truly elite mentality , nothing I have ever seen before. To be so clutch at those penalties in live or die situations , vs Netherlands and especially France , was out of this world. In a final of the world cup , when 4 billion people are watching you , score is 3-3 after you had a 2-0 and 3-2 advantage and should have crumbled , Mbappe scores a penalty to put them ahead at the shootout. Messi misses that and the game ends right there , but then comes the Goat , and in pressure 10 times higher than the Mariana trench he casually passes the ball into the net. He reached psychopathic levels there.

His 2022 WC campaign is for the ages. At 35, he had:

- 10 G + A in 7 WC games, which is the joint highest all time with 86 Maradona and 2022 Mbappe in the modern era

- Scored in every KO game, and 2 highlight reel assists in the QFs and SFs

- Scored 5 out of 5 pens in the QF, SF, F across the games and shootouts. The pressure was immense for these pens, especially in the WC final

- Had only 1 other player in his team who is established world class (Di Maria), and this player was injured for most of the KOs

- Led a team of players from Benfica, Villa, AM, Spurs, Inter (2nd tier teams) to beating Holland, Croatia and France back to back to back

He and Jordan are untouchable in team sports.

You can tell kingleo is American when he brings up Michael Jordan like anyone knows who he lmfao

Haha I think everyone knows Michael Jordan. He's like Tyson globally known.
Know fuck all about how clutch he was though.

I never considered Messi as clutch. He could be at times but post 2014/2015 till this world cup he often had the short end of the stick unfortunately.

Bartomeu: ?Letting Messi leave Bar?a was a historic mistake. I would not have let it happen. The best player in history deserved to retire at Bar?a

Try MJ in Africa & s outh asia, you'll have no answer "or yeah yeah the guy with the shoes"
I honestly thought he was more known haha. In Europe he's well known. As a kid I knew him from Space Jam.
Lebron pops up high on these most popular athletes around the world lists. I wonder if he's famous on that Messi/Ronaldo level.
Think not, maybe more like Federer?

Very few athletes are as globally known though outside of football players.
I think Ali and Tyson but thats about it right?
