Seems like the PSG fans are finally starting to love him too. On their Reddit there’s many PSG fans who are furious with the rest of their players (except Hakimi) because they avoid passing to Messi when he is in great positions. Which is ridiculous because he is in crazy form right now and creating danger pretty much every time he received the ball according to the fans over there. Rumors of some national team rivalry and jealousy going on. Their coach was even shouting furiously at the end ”Pass the ball to Messi!!”.

Maybe the are very reactionary over there then. I saw like 8-9 comments with a lot of upvotes mentioning it. Definitely looked a bit like it the few times I watched PSG, but that was with Mbappe and Ney on the pitch too. You would think they would pass it to him more often now with those out.

I will say there have been past games yeah where I would have preferred the ball to have gone to Messi instead of Neymar, or Neymar himself releasing the ball sooner. But looking for Messi too often will make the team too predictable and disbalance the team. As a fan of Messi yeah, I'd like to see him on the ball as much as possible. I think Mbappe being piss poor right now is a huge reason for the sentiment as well.

Yeah, today everyone wanted to pass him the ball. A bit wrong at times IMHO, but tbf he was their main attacking force on the field.
