I hope Mbappe doesn't move this year, it will be incredible to see how that front three clicks for a year. CL Knockout rounds would be sensational.

We were at home the better team but away they were better. In 13/14 we draw two times against them in la liga but lost in cl. In 15-16 we won both la liga matches against them but lost in cl. I dont say we shouldnt have won but somehow atletico isnt a team we like to play in cl.

13/14 wasn't MSN Barca.

14/15 since MSN Barca (which began v AM in that famous game where MSN celebrated together), we were on a 7 (SEVEN) game WINNING streak, in both cup and league format. How is it so hard to understand that if we kept our level, they were not a challenging opponent.

But I know why you're arguing the point that you are. Rather transparent

If we would kept the level we would have won the treble....but you need to understand that winning in cl and la liga are different. In cl its only two matches so teams are sometimes more motivated than playing in a league which is maybe already lost. The Atletico which i saw in vicente calderon in 15/16 cl against barca was powerplay (at the beginning). They made 2-0 and then defended relaxed.

Sorry, i dont know what you mean.

They got their 2-0 with 2 mins left in the game, on a dodgy pen after we had a pen shout turned down ourselves.

So no they weren't defending a 2-0 "relaxed"

I don't blame you for not having watched this game. I'm sure you were busy watching RM instead

yeah agree, in 15/16 i would really give the fault to LE, if he would have rested more the players we would have won the cl title, real in 15/16 was a joke. We were by far the best team in the world.

Honestly, this is an L for LE. We were like 9 points ahead of ATM, 10 ahead of RM by the time of El Clasico.

Would have rested all the MSN in El Clasico as they just came back from the South American WCQ.

Unnecessary shoot out at the end. At this point i will end the discussion.

yeah...at the end we did even lose the clasico so yeah we should have rested them to play with fresh players against atletico. A fit MSN would have been enough to win the cl again in 15/16 considering the low level.

Lucho literally started Messi in a Copa del Rey round of 16 second leg away to Espanyol when we had a 3 goal lead

Ah, those days when RM were tanking Copa while LE and MSN the genuises attacked that trophy with the ferocity of a CL final...

If we had won CL 15/16, RM never has their golden era and 3 peat. That season was WAY more consequential than people imagined. 18/19 was the last try to somewhat put us back on track. And now, 5-6 years of mediocrity awaits.

agree with the last part, the 15/16 cl win gave them a huge self confidence boost for 16/17 CL.

Had Barca won CL that season the narrative would have shifted for many things. Barca as the top dominant club, no Real 3 peat, Messi takes no shit, Neymar's introduction into the immortals, first team to repeat trebles back to back in history.

Agree. Ney never leaves us if we do back to back trebles. Messi's legacy would have been secured (5 CLs, 3 trebles lol) and he would have handed the reins to Neymar as the main man by 16-17.
