Still mad we gave our GOAT away, and we signed bums like Aguero and Depay. Abysmal. If I would have been the president off Barcelona, i would have selled my mum for Messi to remain at Barca. I am exageratting, but you get the idea. It hurts to see him scoring for that abomination.

We didn't ''give him away'', we tried to keep him and couldn't. Depay isn't a bum and I don't think Aguero is either. This had to happen, it sucks but it's where we are. I'm glad we didn't sell the club's future (with the CVC deal) to keep a player who's 34 years old. Even if he is the best of all time.

nah brah, the football experts in here will tell you that it is better this way. we got rid of this burden that was leo messi. a plague for the club.

meanwhile, messi scores a brilliant goal against the best team around, in a game he was hardly involved by his team mates. still can't run, still a liability, still no big team would want him in their ranks etc.

Yeah, Depay is a good player, but nothing more. He is a bum player when you think about the prestige of FC Barcelona. Aguero is not a bum, i was mistaken, he is a cripple. He'll play 10 games at maximum. Agree about the CVC deal, but i didn't said something about that. I would have been more forcefully with the veteran contracts, and not signing those players i mentioned. We would have been better with Messi in the team than with Depay and Aguero. I have feeling that we didn't wanted to keep him, and that is sad and wrong.

Yeah, he barely functions in that team, yet he scored a worldie. This is what world class means. Meanwhile, the signing of the season Depay is missing sitters from 4-5 meters.

Does the game yesterday vindicate Messi of any of the criticism he received here? I don't think so. But you know, you can be sad that Messi is gone, admit we would be a better team with him and still be relieved we are starting something new.

Yeah, we are starting something new, with Koeman as a coach and with Busquets and Pique still stinking the place. Indeed, the player that scored 45 goals in the season was tour biggest problem. Not past it veterans, mediocre coaches and overpayed and overrated bums.

Each their own I guess, but I didn't enjoy the Messi-centric Barcelona anymore (while I still very much enjoyed Messi though). And no, I don't think Messi was our biggest problem, but he was 100% the most influential in how we played (boring and slow).

"brilliant goal against the best team around" LOL

Bro, if you didn't realize that was his trademark goal at an easy version with much space open and the goal pretty open in front of him before he took the shot.
He has scored much more difficult goals

Apart from that, overstating City's power a way to vindicate your biased views?
Nah, City are the most suitable of the top teams for Messi to play against as they can be vulnerable at the back
Chelsea for instance would be a nightmare for Messi to score against

As for the rest, yeah, he wasn't involved, it was a mediocre game, and his goal does n't change that

was a brilliant goal, against the best team around. chelsea, liverpool or bayern ain't no better than city or some impregnable fortresses.

watch how he actually asks for the ball from veratti, starts the run with ball from halfway line. hakimi is clever to make a fake run, mbappe with that cheeky deflection and messi barely touches with his right for added control and fires home with his left. yeah, casual goal for every player. against a team that made minced meat out of your mighty chelsea on the weekend.

the fact that messi scores those in his sleep is testament to how good he is.

can't really blame his mediocre display too much. psg attacked chaotically at times, with neymar or mbappe trying to resolve things on their own. i would say messi was unselfish last night and didn't try to ball hog. also helped when he could the defense(for his usual standards).

Birdy, what is your opinion on prime Messi (let's say this is 2008-2015)

GOAT
Never denied that,
But I suffer from a condition: I am a committed realist and objectivist, I hate fanboyism and the sort
So I won't try to sweeten things and be blind to his decline, or support him at all cost,
