I still think he got hurt much worse in the Venezuela match tackle. It was horrendous. I was shocked he could continue after.

Since then he hasn't been as good.
This. Watching it live it looked a career ender. While it wasn't that, it was certainly more than a knock - Messi hasn't looked the same since.

They were far better with Messi off the park in the game they played vs the league champions. From 1-0 down to 2-1 win.

that was an exception. could very well put it on half time team talk or sheer player determination. vs lyon it was the refs, vs city it was poor finishing from the opposition etc.

they've been hot and cold in nealry every match and don't think that's on messi.

pochettino is not the number one culprit for messi's form, never said that. lack of chemistry, not having a decent run of games with PSG, all that traveling, injuries, adapting to a new environment are the problem.

pochettino is approaching the end of another half a season with PSG and they don't look better.

Not sure on the 'poor without Messi' argument.

The first three games in league without Messi they scored 12 goals and won all five he didnt play in can almost make that 6 when include the Lille game being turned around.

One of the league games he came off in they went from losing to winning it as happened in CL.

Without Messi it is played 5 won 5 and scored 18 goals in league.

Dont agree on Pochettino being the reason for Messis form. PSG have been better without Messi and Poch is not to blame for Messi missing most chances in league without a goal etc.

games against some shitty teams. just realised they had that many at the start of the season.

messi came off twice in the league and psg turned it around(they were drawing vs lyon after ref gifted them a penalty). didn't happen in the CL as Messi played 90' in all games.

as said, not blaming pochettino for messi's form, even though playing him isolated on right wing is stupid. but psg are lacking big time in level of play.

maybe i've watched the games against decent to good opposition.

Not all shitty teams or lower in table compared to teams played with Messi and that is not the point anyway. The point is they have not been poor this season without him.

Aye wrong on CL. It was the league he came off twice and they improve and won the game.

Poch is first modern coach that Messi has had since Pep that has a style based on pressing from front and playing like a unit and it is not working so far for them both.

But it is not just Messi in isolation. Picking a team that has Messi/Neymar/Mbappe and at times Di Maria has a lot of obstacles to get past if want to play way top coaches like Pep/Klopp do and ask from a team. Particularly when give up having a CF in team as focal point.

First, Messi needs to fully heal his injury 100%.

Messi's best chance of succeeding at PSG imo would be for Poch to, ironically, follow the blueprint Koeman set out vs PSG in that 1-1 draw last season.

Donnaruma---Ramos, Marquinhos, Kimpembe---Hakimi, Veratti, Paredes/Gueye, Mendes---Neymar---Messi, Mbappe

Im confidence with what i saw with my own eyes and still going to throw the statement that he was really good when facing rennes. Despite the result. Just not the dribbling monster he regularly shown during argentina matches during and right after copa. Here have a look.

Yes his main matter right now is injury here and there. I think it is a toll he fully realized as a payment for winning copa. And before the rennes match he also played good, first matches has some shots hit the bar also some nice run and passing play here and there, just not the goal yet (except the city one).
