tbf the Spanish tax laws are very murky. Think Mourinho and CR got charged for tax evasion.

I know it was kind of a gray zone but still if they tried it, it means they definitely like their money (there is nothing wrong with it).

Also, with the Football Leaks, it was shown that Bar?a somewhat paid him back what he had to pay for the tax evasion.

Greatest player. I still think he could have worked something out to stay at Barca. When your sponsors pay you 34m a year, making you the 6th highest paid player in the world on sponsorship alone, you can play for 1 Euro or a 1000 Euro per week.

If Laporta came with this offer just for Messi to continue , I hope he would tell him to fuck off and go fuck himself.

Imagine giving away your salary for Barcelona, only to carry a bunch of diva flops who don't want to cut their salaries at all. Imagine if he gave it his all for one last time scored +30 goals in this La Liga , again just like last season while Dembele has 5 and Griezmann 10 -13 , the defence giving free goals every game , and end up losing La Liga earning 1000 euros / week while the others didn't accept a cut in salaries , go home and post on instagram , not giving a shit about anything.

Disgraceful.

Yes, a Manchester City fan should be lecturing others on modest expenditures in football - signings or wages

In life there are compliments, comments and criticisms. This was a comment and a compliment. The top 10 highest paid players in the world, Man City are absent. Have a nice day.

He could have stayed if he wanted to. He did not want to without money in excess of his annual 34m sponsorship. But he is still the greatest player.

See here, they explain early in the vid:

wage bill was at 110% but even if Leo played for free, it would still be at 95%

whereas the sal cap imposed by La Liga is 70%

both parties presented the same story:
1. they've formally agreed to a 50% wage cut
2. messi waited for the actual contract to sign
3. club never made a counter offer or asked messi to lower his wages again
4. club told messi they can't offer renewal because of la liga rules

would you have liked for messi to get on his knees and beg laporta? maybe say something like - ok i'll play for free?

him playing for free(if such thing is possible) would have meant the whole footballing world coming down. or do you think messi would have carried the team again while cou, griez, umtiti, dembele get their fat paychecks by basically not doing much if at all?

these kind of tweets are for morons. what are his options really? psg and city(at a stretch).

otherwise were would he go? do you think he would pick arsenal just for the lols?

We don't what his options are yet. You have to remember that he was supposed to stay with Barcelona last Thursday and didn't get told the news that night that we couldn't sign him. No other teams have had a chance to prepare offers. It takes time to work out the figures in regards to FFP and whatnot. Maybe he has several offers and he's giving them a chance to prepare their offers properly. He's in no rush. He still has a few weeks to pick his team. It would be stupid to just join a team at the drop of a hat.

It seems that PSG and their media are putting pressure on Messi to make up his mind more than Messi having his actual mind made up.

If he doesn't sign by tomorrow night, you can safely say that he still hasn't made his mind up yet and it is the French media trying to force the issue.
