I will take your word for it. But thought it always strange you would insert yourself with every discussion at hand except for Palestina - Israel conflict.

Yeah strange times in the internet to not have an opinion on something I know fuckall about indeed

How are you keeping us straight with claims like "carried by Di Maria"?

Because he was?
Far better tournament from the latter

Compare DiMaria stats and Messis from the tournament and it's not close

What stats?
Scored a stoppage time penalty, 3 goals in a group, and disappeared in the final

It's all riding mostly on nostalgia and denial.
Which I understand. Just necessitates some reminders

Even stats aside, if you actually watched the whole tournament, no one was carried by anyone.

All the Argentinian players played their roles great.

Can't believe we're even having this discussion.

Yeah, you were watching a different tournament.

This is the part I disagree with.

Whoever questions Messi is either CR7 or RMs fan, according to our forum.

Since I am from Croatia, majority of people here are Barca, RM, Milan, Juve, Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal fans.

So, this is surely not about RM or CR7.
For the average football fan here, Messi is past it for a long time.

5300 votes, 82% for Lewandowski

Average, unbiased fans, at least in my country are for Lewandowski, by miles.

Anyway, congrats to Messi.
But not anyone who questions him is a RM agent and similar.
The world is somewhat different outside of our fanbase.

Did you really quote that trash portal as a reference point. My God BBZ! You would honestly use anything just to prove your point. Messi just won his seventh Ballon d'Or and he is the biggest legend of this club and this sport in general. Can't you just be positive once for a change?

di maria didn't play from the start in 4 of 6 copa america matches dawg, how you can say he did better than messi if for the majority of the tournament was on the bench  Messi, De Paul and Emiliano carried Argentina, kudos to Di Maria for the final but that's it, don't act like he had a tournament like WC 2014

Better call up Messi and tell him to bring the Ballon back. We have fresh votes from a shite website in Croatia and its looking ugly for him. :tata:

Yes, it is always a shit site.
Must be obscure site or RM's PR machine.
For years it is the most visited news site in Croatia from covid, wars, politics to sport.

Why is it so hard to accept that in different parts of the world people have different cultures and also different football cultures?

A few years ago, 10 Croatian members here were all shitting on Neymar.
Some thought that we hate him because Brazil won against Croatia, lol.
No, we hate him because 90% of people here don't like his clown type of tricks and football.
In South America he is a god and fun to watch.

In Germany and Scandinavia average fans are more leaned towards efficiency and running over a pure beauty.
In Latin Europe and South America though, efficiency without art and beauty is boring.

In some parts of the world, 90% will vote for Messi over Cr7 in a Goat debate.
In other parts of the world, it will be 50:50 or in Cr7's favor where people will appreciate more raw numbers and titles over art.

Since this is Barcaforum where people and a culture are leaning towards a
footballing art and beauty (closer to South American type of culture, football and values) the opinion of other cultures who have different tastes is seen as shit, obscure, being a contrarian, being a Cr7/Rm fan, lol.

Step outside of Barca bubble.
Different nations and cultures have different views and they rate different things in life and football.

Did more in that 90 mins than Messi the rest of the tournament
And has done since then in WC qualis since Scaloni stuck him permanently on the RW where he belongs
Keep saying it but hey, it doesn't really matter
All the point was is Copa America is the reason he was considered and was done on nostalgia on the back of a pretty poor tournament mostly padding in group.
Plus club form out the window where he was shite all year

Ah well onward and upward.

What did Lewandowski do to be such a clear favourite amongst the fans?

Can't remember, to be honest.
