Psg prevent a loss but who cares here. Messi didn't score. Would rather them lose 5 3 with a Messi hat trick in half their games than them win the league and him score less than 5 league goals.

11 dribbles. Something we rarely saw lately. Of course he got 2-3 each match but not this.
Deserves man of the match though having no goal.
1 hit the post, 1 a decent save. Best performance alongside rennes. With mbappe for receiving his passes could pass rennes though. Too bad we only have di maria with his wasteful kicks and icardi.

It's good that he scored, because if not, he's getting the wotm.


Ps:8.8 at whoscored even without scoring.

I only care with what i see. When i see messi playing brilliant,i say it. When he plays mediocre i also say it. Team result is for.... a team. See with your own eyes.

No one even haters would say icardi played better than messi eventhough he scored. So getting a goal is not direct measure, he's a playmaker now. His job is making passes that create opportunities, while seeking goal for himself.

Even when he's at his best he is not scoring. Unlucky with the shot that hit the post and brilliant play to set up di Maria who somehow missed. Anyway he's not getting enough clear chances with this average team. He would have had a few goals tonight on this form with man city's second string

Watching him at PSG at least makes it easier to appreciate the team he had around him at Barcelona. Even as the squad got much worse in the last few years, it was still a group of players and style of play that suited Messi quite well.

I used to think that he was wasting his career by staying at Barca these last couple years but he probably did better here even in recent years than he would have elsewhere. He certainly could have had more success at Barcelona post 2015 if Bartomeu and co hadn’t made so many bad decisions but staying at Barca as long as he did was probably still the right move for his career.
