I like Skrtel but with our defence I'd rather let them concentrate on defending rather than leading the rest of the team. I like the decision because Milner is well respected and has a great mentality plus he never hides so I'm happy.

Awful lineup from Rodgers, trying to play tiki taka with no creativity in the team except Coutinho.

I cannot stress enough how rubbish a player this Lallana lad is. Utterly insipid for a 27 year old. It's hilarious how Rodgers doesn't waste a second to wash his hands off the flops the committee brings in but his own flops get cut flak like no other. Coutinho is far too good for them, too many mediocre players piggybacking on him since Suarez left.

Liverpool looked a lot more solid at the back yesterday. Clyne was a good buy, Gomez looks a real prospect and even Lovren looked decent.

I also thought Firmino & Can made a huge difference to the team when they came on. Both quality players.

The starting lineup should be...

...............Mignolet.................
Clyne....Skrtel....Lovren....Gomez
..................Can....................
.....Henderson.......Milner..........
Firmino........................Coutinho
................Benteke.................

with Sakho pushing Lovren for his spot and Ibe, Ings & Origi getting plenty of playing time.

where is the width in that team ? firmino and coutinho are both CAMs who love to tuck in, Benteke works better with service from out wide

With Can holding (and boy did he play well when he came on yesterday) Milner and Henderson can time their runs forward and get into the box or out wide. The full backs should provide plenty of width as well. And Coutinho and Firmino can do a job out wide.

Another lucky win tonight for Liverpool. Their team, 3 or 4 players aside, looks very average. I would love to know what goes through Rodgers' mind when he fields a player as horrific as Lallana every week despite him being rubbish just about every time they play.

I really think they should go back to the diamond. They just look so toothless with one up front.

as a liverpool fan I agree, we cannot keep playing henderson and milner without a dm. My personal feeling is that Rodgers has not changed, hasn't learnt anything from the car crash at the end of last season.

I wouldn't play him on the basis of his beard

Liverpool looked far stronger last night, their pressing was superb in the first half. That's their best 11 by miles, Henderson will slot in for Lucas (although I think Lucas is much better as a DM) when he's back from injury but that's it. Unlucky not to take all 3 points I thought.

I've been away for a couple of weeks so no chance to vent my feelings!!

Truly a shambolic display against West Ham. Since August 2012 we have not improved defensively one iota. We have spent millions on average defenders. Playing Lovren ahead of Sakho because Brendan bought the former and the T.C. bought the latter smacks of complete arrogance, when the fact of the matter is Sakho is better than Lovren in all facets of the game.

To put it as simply as this if I was in a job for 5 years and I kept making the same mistake time after time after time again and have been given resources available to get better at that task, but haven't done so, then I'd expect the sack and rightfully so.

That Brendan doesn't understand that we NEED a defensive midfielder to protect the back 4 and to re-start attacks by a simple square ball or forward pass to a team-mate is simply mind-boggling.

The funny thing is though that this squad of players are as good as the mancs and almost as good as the Arsenal. However those two teams have managers that understand the nature of the game and how to play and doing so in a not so naive way.

I think a bad October could be the end of Brendan.
