impressive how

Aesthetically it looks great imo,but to each their own I guess.

Kind of falls short though in my opinion, adding 8k seats is hardly the expansion originally talked about.

The Main stand is phase 1. Phase 2 is the rebuilding of the Anfield road stand which will add another 4800 seats bringing capacity to 58,500. I think Liverpool should be aiming for around 65-68k however I think they are restricted by the ability of the surrounding area to handle transport. I think they could build a new train line but that would cost 10's of millions. I am yet to hear from the council about the maximum they can build to before having to build new transport links. Basically they have the same issue as Arsenal .

Come on Liverpool! Really the title is theirs to lose. I hope Liverpool smash Chelsea and Atleti dump their asses out of the CL too. That would be glorious.

Liverpool should make the Kop look like Dortmund's yellow wall. I think top tier football in the UK is ready for safe standing areas.

I think it might also have to do with few people who still refuse to give up their house in the area. But what sucks is that the neighborhood has basically turned to shit while waiting for this expansion to happen.

I don't disagree, if you emphasize the "safe", but I doubt Liverpool would be the club to try to spearhead that.

Actually the houses behind the main stand and Anfield road stand have been bought, the last were bought in the past few days which is why these plans have finally been released. Here is a leaked image of both the stands redeveloped.

It appears that 60k is the the max allowed for the forseeable future unless the council decide that the area can handle more traffic. At least that's what those informed have been saying over on RAWK and skyscrapercity.

That's no longer an issue.
