Do or die for Sergi Roberto, honestly don't think he will shine, but hope he proves me wrong!

Umm, Rafinha is still part of this squad.... and there's also Samper, Halilovic and Suarez.

Who are not world class yet. Midfield is the most important part of our style. We need to have world class players in that position. We have a promising players in midfield but do we have enough to win UCL? If messi stops giving a fuck and just starting walking again you will see how shit our midfield is in creating chances.

I don't think Roberto skill set is perfect for Barcelona. He will make it in EPL though, he is actually a very promising player. I will use the words of Pep here “Sergi Roberto is a player to look out for in the coming years. When he really breaks through you’ll all be surprised.”

You said Barca were screwed if Xavi left, Xavi who is a rotation player now. I pointed Barca still have plenty of depth. Short of replacing Iniesta with another world class midfielder as a starter, the team has plenty of depth and plenty of backup talent to draw from.

If Xavi leaves like you said, midfield still has Iniesta, Rakitic, Rafinha, Roberto, and possibly Samper, Halilovic and Suarez. Nothing to be concerned there aside from Iniesta's poor form, which is a different matter.

Seeing Roberto in that lineup makes me sad but I think Masch could be *functional* as a DM and an extremely well rested Xavi is a dominant enough player to cover for Roberto's invisibility. We'll be reliant on Alves/Messi/Neymar again but oh well. The objective is to kill the game early so we can take the pressure off the more important players in the 2nd half with early-ish subs.

Pedro gets another shot though, starting again. It can never be said that the team hasn't stuck by him in his period of terrible form.

Oh! You understood like that i am sorry. I am saying our midfield is not that strong anymore. Nothing more than that. Rakitic Iniesta and Busi in their current form is not that great midfield and we can see it clearly in the matches. rakitic is doing good but he can offer much more creativity. Don't consider Samper, Halilovic and Suarez yet. If xavi leaves in jan we will have Iniesta, Busi, Rakitic, Roberto and Rafinha.. Rafinha seems to be injury prone and S.Roberto not quite good for our style. Busi and Iniesta not in good form and Rakitic is doing more defensive work than offensive work. Who will create chances? We can't always depend on messi

It is good that we have a player like Xavi on the bench who can come on and make a difference in some matches but if he leaves our chances for CL will take a serious hit.

If my memory serves me, last time Mascherano started at DM in league was against Osasuna away (last Pep season I believe), also with Sergi Roberto in line-up. That didn't go well. :D
