He doesn't suck but he's better as a DM. He puts in some great performances at CB sometimes but there are times when his lack of height and awareness get exposed. A lot of us thought he'd be used as an occasional CB as well as DM sometimes to rest Busquets. Nothing has changed as he's started I think every Liga match so far.

Pique has problems with his hip, he's not 100% yet. But with Busquets and Samper, I don't think we'll see Masch at DM.

You fail to mention the positives, though, such as his never-say-die-attitude, leadership and of course crushing tackles. Besides, it should be clear by now, that he can't (and probably won't) play CM in our system. It seems Lucho is going to trust Samper to fill in for Busi once in a while, which as of now seems like a much more seamless transition than it'd be to stick Masch in there.

After Tito(RIP) who was supposed to be Pep's heir and a true Barcelona man gave very little minutes to young players that could've really helped us like Tello, Bartra, Montoya to an extent, and definitely Thiago; then the Tata era where he started off interestingly but then stuck with the same exact 11 almost the whole season; it's been incredibly refreshing to see Luis Enrique putting so much faith in the youngsters. I like the use of Samper and hope he plays more as well as Munir and Sandro sometimes too. I would just like to see a Mathieu-Pique partnership. I think it could be great.

What was the use of buying one extra CB then? If we were gonna use Masch as CB. Might as well just have sold Bartra then. Now neither him or Vermaelen are gonna get many minutes lol
