Really really really really really happy that Mathieu is being used as a LB immediately 1 game after Alba stunk up the place. Hope he has a monster game and convinces Lucho to use him there in all the big games. It will solve so much sitting Alba's ass on the bench in big games.

Completely agree. Alba was horrible vs PSG. Completely exposed when he couldn't just outrun the attacker. We need more defensive stability in tough away games in the CL. Plus, a fresh Alba off the bench late in games could be a great card to have in the deck.

This is absolutely not true. Even with Iniesta having a bad form and no Messi drifting to his flank, Alba is showing much more output in offense than Dani.
Alves has more players in his zone to combine with but he did not have any outstanding game so far bar the Granada game where everyone was good.

Alba is our best defender so far (together with Mathieu) and was only bad in the PSG game.
For me there is not any reason to rate Alves higher than Alba at the moment.
