This is what I fear. He still has time to figure it out, but if he got blind trust in the players he keep playing and the system he's playing.......might not end pretty.

Especially when we are going to face top team, Real, Juventus etc. It's not going to be pretty. Think last season away games vs PSG and Juventus!

Messi keeps on dropping back. I think this formation provides perfect balance between defence, attack and possession

We might have some possession but we won't have much combination play since neither Paulinho or Roberto are that technical

2. half tragic
Each long pass of Ter Stegen was lost, i think near 100%.
Every oppontents press us high, the midfield is under pressure with 4-5 oppnoents and we can't go out of our defense, we do not have a clear idea how to go out of our defense without trying a long pass (=we lost the ball).
The defense has improved a lot (often in the past our weak point), but we lost the midfield and the attack.
Anyway, 3 very important points
We are winning thanks a mix of luck/Ter Stegen/solid defense/Messi.

This was an ugly, the team totally colapsed in the second half, it looked like everyone sudenly forgot how to pass. But it was expected without Iniesta, it just no one to connect defence with atttack, Paulinho had some good moments in the first half, but he is no creative midfielder. Coutinho would have helped so much in game like this.

PSG and Juventus are on different level. Juventus had many injuries last time.

Umm, i guess you are not really watching their matches too much. PSG looks like Luchos 3rd season Barcelona, only that they play in even worse league than us, so they still get some results. Juventus is far from even being best team in Italy now, not to mention Europe.

Imagine we face Pep’s city in UCL with this same formation and system. Absolute nightmare and humiliation I guess. We have the worst midfield of the top teams in Europe.

We can compete in la liga if Real keep choking and we keep grindin out results but we are not an elite team at the moment and will be exposed badly once we face some truly strong opposition in cl.

Lucky for me I have zero expectations when it comes to the Champions League. Every round after the round of 16 will be a bonus.

That said, I can’t believe that people are happy with how we’re playing. Sure we’re grinding out the results but our style of play is being ripped to shreds by Valverde. It honestly feels as though we’re getting worse as the season progresses. It’s like the more time he has the more boring we get.

Messi has mostly been a spectator lately due to defensive setups... Shouldn’t complain about rest.

This is AB away game. Chill people. We hit frame for 2 times. It could have been 0:3 in 1st half. Life aint always a piece of shit. Sometimes it has a cherry on top.
