Despite his persistent array of Bizarre decisions and twisted logic, EV has us unbeaten so far in the league. He deserves some modicum of credit for that. The guy is pragmatic as they come and not a risk taker, which is good in the short term. When it comes to taking risks as far as giving time to young/developing/unproven players, don’t expect him to do that.

2-0 is being polite at HT considering we had a clear goal disallowed yet again and many clear chances too.

Iniesta is back and a pleasure to watch, Suarez is improving and Messi has 2 assists but could have scored 4 goals - not a bad half. Deportivo not to be underestimated - good GK and quick passing.

Agreed. I can't wait for january transfers and Dembélé comeback to see how Valverde will react. Then we can make some rulings.

I expect him to do that. But like you said: he is pragmatic. And a pragmatic man would like to see our main XI perform at a decent level at least before thinking of giving youth players playing time. If we continue our run like this, there will also be enough time at the tail-end of season to have youth players play.

Don't understand why people expect youth players if our main squad isn't even functioning properly. All in time though...

Entertaining game, Messi was unlucky.
Surprised that Depor GK Ruben is actually our own La Masia product who was 3rd GK during Rijkaard days
