Messi's always did that. The problem with Messi doing that now is he doesn't have the support he used to. He used to have players like Neymar and a Suarez in his prime to open the space up. The midfield is also much weaker and slower.

We're not winning anything this year. We're simply not consistent and good enough. And we can't blame Setien, because it's not his team, and he's been left with such an average and aging team. He won't even get the funds to be able to change much.

Wingers act like wide forwards and we will see more participation from the FBs. Firpo had an assist and almost another one if Griezmann scores that sitter. Roberto scored. We can have good wing play without genuine wingers if the fullbacks know how to attack space.

Andy Robertson was nobody two seasons ago. Same was Arnold. Semedo and Firpo are both fast and can attack space and overlap very well. Roberto can too to an extent.

Besides, this is the squad and I was posting how you can have wing play without real wingers.
