He really needs to start the same lineup and get consistency and chemistry. This isn't friendly matches for god sakes.
I'm not giving credit, just saying that the hatred is being misdirected. If I were to try to find fault with Lucho's actions today, the lineup decisions is one of the things that he more or less actually improved upon sans benching Suarez. It's the tactical side that I'd observe with high scrutiny. I can get being more than irritated about the Suarez decision but you guys are acting as if he smeared our lineup with the likes of Douglas, Roberto, Masip, etc.
even Pep wouldn't be able to do shit without chemistry between the players when you keep rotating them every single gameTrue but benching Suarez is kind of a big error considering our creative struggles ATM don't you think? We know his tactics are crap so at least have the individuals there to win by themselves.
He's playing rotation options like he's got a oerfectly functioning system that can get wins even with backups as if he is guardiola .
Suárez was average against Celta and terrible against Ajax. Pedro did more against Ajax than Suárez in the entire match. So, he's deservedly on the pitch. And I fully agree that a 12-year-old wouldn't make the same decisions as Lucho, though in my opinion that speaks for Lucho.
...
Neymar needs a rest, he has played a lot lately. And no, I don't expect Suárez to in beast mode immediately, but you can't play someone who doesn't perform for several games straight, no matter what his name is. Suárez has been bad, he deserves to be on the bench. Lost the ball countless times both against Celta and Ajax. He is not some youngster who desperately needs playing time to progress. He's an established player and if he doesn't perform, he sits. He'll get plenty of chances in the future and I hope he'll take the next one.
There are almost zero excuses to not start Neymar and Suarez, I don't know why you're trying to rationalize this. No one's complaining about Pique and Alves getting benched.
I would have also expected you to take exception to Adriano over Montoya.
Just no. If you really think that a player who hasnt performed for two years, and is essentially way weaker than suarez, and actually has been given many chances this season....if you think such a player should start, good for you, but its absurd really. One assist who wasnt really an assist and everything is fine. Thats classical pedro right there. Suarez all the way.A weak suarez is better than a good pedro.
Won't be surprised if he actually thinks there is CL on Tuesday
Rotations are good later in season when the team has chemistry and they NEED rest. Rotation is NOT good at beginning of season when everyone is 100% and want to play.I think rotation is massively overrated. Look at Atletico last year..
I m not saying that rotation is useless, but what is happening this season under Lucho is nonsense..
I have gotten used to Montoya sitting on the bench and frankly, it's already an improvement for him considering Douglas will watch from the stands. I'm happy about Alves being benched more than I am sad about Montoya not starting. And again, Neymar has played a lot so he needed a rest, and Suárez just hasn't performed, so if you want a line-up based on merit, he shouldn't be in it, even if he needs playing time (which he's getting plenty of, mind you - after he came back from suspension, he played all 3 games in a row).
All of these "decisions" would have been made by my grandmother weeks ago. Has the standard for Barca managers fallen so low that we credit them for taking decisions that should have been taken an eternity ago?
