16mil for a LB that PSG doesn't even want or play....and has 2 years left on his contract.

Brilliant!

Really reinforcing the team with some quality.

Let's not jump into the conclusion yet and give this guy the benefit of doubt, who hasn't even arrived yet.

Let's hope he can prove us doubters wrong and continue to grow as a player.

We always wait till we are desperate for a position instead of planning ahead and getting a good guy for cheap from a position of strength. We get ripped off for second rate players and overrated old players. The only good signings we make recently are the superstar signings Neymar and Suarez but we can't afford these types of players anymore. The other top clubs have 100's of millions to spend we only have 50m each summer

Our era will end soon and we will enter a rebuilding phase at the worst time when the other top clubs have double our budget

I would have given him the benefit of doubt if I didn't know what kind of player he is. He wasn't good enough to even compete with 33yo+ Maxwell, got sent to Italia and had a kinda decent season there (let's be honest, Serie A is a garbage championship overall) and was absolutely atrocious in UCL.
Take a look at Jese goal vs Roma in UCL round of 16, you'll be impressed.

Things are obviously nowhere near as black and white as Jefecito will have us believe. Lots of Roma fans would have loved to keep him, but negotiations stalled and in the end noone budged.

Read these for example: http://www.chiesaditotti.com/2016/6/18/11970622/psg-lower-lucas-digne-asking-price-to-15-million

Scroll down a bit on the last link. They are being asked, of they would prefer to keep him.

Not a big fan of Digne, but gotta wait and see how he does.

Was highly rated as a 18-19 year old, but really stalled after that.

Inb4 he comes a beast here lel

It's good depth though. It's not like he's utter crap either or always injured like Adriano is these days, and we can probably sell him for this much or profit to England if he doesn't do well.

PSG dumping player to barcelona is completely not true.
PSG tried to renew contract in May but player refused.
In fact, Digne is one who stole the NT spot from Kurzawa.

Lastly, Roma is not buying Digne because they are about to break FFP rule
so they have to let him go even though Roma need him

Of course Roma fans would have preferred to keep him. Why ? Because it's AS Roma.
We are talking about Barça here, Digne is way better than Adriano, he may be good enough to be a sub but defo not for 16m€.
That's shitty business from the Lucho and Robert Fernandez, especially when we had Grimaldo who could have done the same job for free.

We can all agree that the fee is too high, if 17+3M is true. I feel you could get a lot of La Liga leftback for that money and I would feel safer with one from the league.. But Lucho has been critized for narrow-minded targets, and this is a fresh try, lets give him a chance. Maybe Robert is doing some Atletico transfer-magic, or maybe Enrique called old friends in Roma and got a recommendation. But let us not judge the price before the transfer is official and the player before he has had the chance to prove himself (unless you have seen most of his games last season).

We should aim higher than 'better than current Adriano' because that is nearly fullback in top leagues, but I would have liked a more versatile profile, unless we also sign a RB.
