Because the season is not over yet, simple as that. He doesn't want to start any fuzz that can remove the focus from the more important matters at hand. Keeping this off the table before the finals is good as it keeps the team on their toes. He's giving them no reason for complacency over anything and everything is still to be fought for - including the matter of him staying or not, which I think everyone including Messi really wants now.

When messi likes a chelsea player on twitter he is "saving the club" on and off the pitch by putting pressure on the board. When Enrique rattles the players and gets them all firing better than Guardiola ever had us playing he is an arrogant bastard who puts himself above the teams success. I like this forum.

Nobody who's actually involved with a football club gives a fuck about media speculation. It's padding for the fans, nothing more nothing less. Btw., the season is a success already no matter how you slice it, so unless he stole the silver or got involved with Barto's wife, he'll stay.
