So what he said it to the press, he's probrably saying otherwise to the team and Neymar.

That is exactly the problem. (If he did it) He basically said in public that Neymar is an idiot child and has to be thought manners.
If anything it should have been the other way around. Tell the player in private that it might be a better idea not to do this too often but stand behind your man in public!

It is not like Neymar actually really hurt anyone but maybe the ego of some insignificant opponent.
I for one would not ever respect anyone as an adult human being whose ego gets hurt by some trifle like this.

It is common sense in European football that trying these kinds of tricks is disrespectful to the opponent. That has been established throughout the years and it doesn't matter whether some random fans disagree with it. You know it's disrespectful, so you don't do it. There are other, much more effective ways to get around the opponent. I have yet to see Neymar actually succeeding with that trick even though he tried it several times. As it is, his trick serves no purpose but to provoke the opponent.

Be prepared to take a beating for telling the truth. Any minute now and you'll be exposed as a Neyhater, closet Madridista, bitter about Barca's success, you name it.

I don't agree with the consensus among players, but it is what it is. It matters more what they think than what the supporters think. Even his own coach and teammates don't support it, that ought to tell you something.

I wonder what the reaction would be if it was Puyol who said what Enrique and Pique did last night. I think it would be the same as with the trick - it matters more who does/says it, than what he does/says.

You lads are making this worse.

Just gave the press something else to chew on so they wouldn't come up with other kinds on bs.

Spot on, man!
Some really couldn't miss the opportunity to bash Lucho. Must be a great feeling to call the manager, who made it all possible, a moron.

Luis Enrique: "(acción Neymar) Si fuera jugador del Athletic respondería igual o peor. No lo hace para humillar pero es difícil de explicar"

This is what Lucho said on presso, and brcastuff twitter did translate like Lucho hated Neymar , that isnt true.
He said ; if i would be AB player, i would react the same or maybe worse, but thats football. Neymar doesnt do that to hummiliate opponents, its how they play in Brasil and here is that not normal (often)...

The problem isn't if that's true. That mentality is what's wrong. I think it's worse when a player scores and then goes on to provoke the rival fans. Trying a trick should not be seen as disrespectful, it's part of the game.

And I agree 100%. But what you and I think is hardly relevant, compared to what his coach, his teammates, and his fellow colleagues do.

Lucho just won the domestic double. People should stop overreacting even if he was a bit careless in his one post-match statement.

Well done Lucho and thank you for bringing back hunger and trophies to this team.

People saying dribbling is disrespectful yet when Ronaldinho does it its "mindblowing" and when Messi puts Boateng on his ass people are making fun of him for weeks. Seriously, this is football. Spitting is disrespectable. Punching is disrespectable. Using tricks to beat your marker is not, are you guys fucking daft?

He had quite a turbulent season until January but after that he made the team unbeatable. I hope he stays next season.

Dribbling is the way to get past the player and cannot be disrespectful. What showboating is when the player is exaggerating things that can be done more simple way. Like you could simply pass instead of doing the flick, there's no additional benefit except for frustrating the opponent. Messi confusing Boateng is completely different from what Neymar did. Actually I never saw Messi showboating. Personally I don't care about those things but it looks like it sometime frustrates the coaches. Couple of days ago Allegri slammed Pogba for showboating. It also has something to do with the culture of the country. You can do all kind of dances to celebrate a goal in Brazil, but it's considered offensive in Spain. Guardiola slammed Alves and Thiago for excessive goal celebration, RFEF slammed CR7 for doing his celebration gesture in Camp Nou, which was nothing to me, but considered offensive in Spain.

Ronaldinho showboated gazillion times. When player has the ball, he can do whatever the fuck he wants with it as long as its by rules. If you ever watched futsal this would be pretty mild by their standards and no body acts like sissies when they get passed by.

Why didnt defender react faster with his turn and took a ball? No body would say its disprespectable then, only stupid by Neymar. What is dissrespectable here is the way he blantanty pushed Neymar with his hands and giving a faul that could lead to a goal. If anyone is dissrespectable its him to his own teammatss.

Hell, I have to say, with the team playing like they have been in the last few months, in some way I'd consider this season a success even if we hadn't won those two trophies. This season was a rebirth of sorts, and it was crucial in terms of laying a good foundation for the next few seasons, which was a difficult task and almost equally as important as winning silverware in the short run. And for this I give Lucho all the credit he deserves. If someone had told me a year or two ago that Barca would start a season with two new goalkeepers, Puyol gone, Xavi mostly on the bench, and Messi's role undefined because of a new forward that can't play RW, I wouldn't have expected any kind of success, at least not early on. In this sense the success we've had is even greater than the silverware shows. Props to everyone involved.

Barcelona's win percentage this season (81.7 or 83.3) will be highest in club history #fcblive Previous: 81% in 1958/59.
