I think the fact that we still control our own destiny at this end of the season with the two A's
arda:
) able to give rest to key players. For example, I'd like to see Lucho experiment with a front line of Neymar-Messi-Arda to rotate Suarez. He needs rest, he's played a lot of games and if we can't overturn his ban, I think this would be a good front line to try for two games.
With both of our games against the Madrid teams being at the Camp Nou, this gives us a key advantage towards winning the title. While I expect Real to stutter as Zidane adjusts the team to his tactics and just learns the general principles to managing, Atleti have been impressive recently though. That's why I was so worried when they got Action Jackson Martinez. He's starting to shine there and he could cause us some problems when we play them next.
But still, I feel as if we practically have one hand on La Liga with the standings being how they are now and accounting for the schedule of fixtures going forward. We still have to be sharp and if we want the CL again, Lucho will have to keep the players focused and consistent during the Liga matches as proper preparation. But we are only half a game behind Atleti, we have an excellent shot at winning the Copa with big lead now over Asspanyol and Real disqualified, there is a double right there.
As long as we bring our A game against Arsenal (mainly if Busi can back pocket Ozïl which I expect him to), they can't match us for two games and it's going to take a big match from them in the first leg to ensure the second leg isn't just a formality. Couple that with the fact that two of four of our biggest rivals (PSG-Chelsea, Bayern-Juve) will be knocked out for the quarters, if we get through Arsenal, I'd fancy our odds of at least getting to the final.
We are in really good shape to repeat. That would be something truly special.
