Luis Suárez

He's 28 and can still give us a good 2 years, then Pep will leave City and we can sign Jesus.

We all know how this works. He is 29 next summer, if signed, gets a 5 year contract. Spending years in his declining years with us. We are not signing Gabriel Jesus, that trained has passed.

If we are able to offload him for free, that is a success.

To offload Suarez for free in a world where Neymar is worth 222 mil, Sigurdsson 50 mil or Paulinho 40 mil. Yeah it makes sense...:facepalm:

Jesus Christ some people here have lost their minds.

It's sarcasm based on his current form... Why so sensitive man? You a Suarez fan?

When Henry left us he had a much higher level than Suarez has now. Villa was much, much better back then than Suarez is now. And we wanted him gone. Hell, Villa is better even today. Pedro was levels above Suarez current level and still is. Alexis even today is a much better player than Suarez. Don't forget Nolito, Icardi and Soriano who also are players we didn't have any use for. Suarez at his best was one of our best forwards ever. But today he is just not that level. Ajax made a Twitter post about getting him back and I frankly don't even know if he would be good enough for them. My biggest problem with him are the sky high wages. He is getting top 10 player in the world wages but does not give us our money's worth. Something must be down about it. Because when fans even say they want Paco to start over him it means he is in big, big trouble.

It's not far fetched to think Suarez would fetch peanuts in the market. Look at the circumstances - we hardly ever sell someone we truly want, or is playing well. Suarez is old, declined to the level of an amateur footballer, if even that, and on a contract with a huge wage.

How exactly do you get good money for him? Hypothetically, even getting rid of him for 10 million isn't as easy as some of you think, considering the circumstances; Suarez will most probably not want to leave, and even less take a pay cut/short contract doing it.

He's been pretty pathetic this year, but take a look at the way he's running in the video above at 0:27-0:33. He's able to make full, long, quick strides forward with his left leg, but as soon as he transitions to his right leg he isn't able move as well and his strides become much shorter and more awkward. The Suarez from a couple years ago wouldn't have let that ball get away from him and would've smashed it into the back of the net in a second or two when he still had a good angle at goal.

This tells me that despite taking the international break off his right knee is still fucked and the only way for him to regain some mobility in it is to have surgery. Right now both Suarez and the medical team aren't doing anyone a favour by delaying his treatment. Currently Suarez is a detriment to this team and playing him only worsens our chances of having success. For his sake, as well as the team's he needs to take a month off, get the surgery done ASAP and return in January alongside Dembele so we can truly assess whether he can still be a useful player to us or he's truly finished. At that point he won't have any more excuses, he'll be playing with Dembele and his knee would've been fixed. If he still manages to flop we can truly declare he's done and toss him aside.

Now would be a great time to get the operation on his knee done, we're 8 points up in La Liga, secured 1st place in our CL group and his performances have hit rock bottom. He's useless right now and actively damaging the team, he needs to be sat down by someone and told he either gets operated on and misses 4 weeks or gets benched for a couple months by Paco.

Sadly Henry joined in the latter stages of his career. In his pomp he was arguably the best in the world, at one stage even better than Ronaldinho IMO.

Had the lot, pace, power, strength, creativity, goals, technique, vision, and his leadership skills were even more prevailant when Arsenal reached the CL final that year.

IMO Henry was the best forward of the 2000's. Sadly, as you said, he joined Barcelona late in his career, to a dressing room filled with many egos.

To the point. Let's not act like Florentino Perez and get rid of legends like Raul and Casillas. Suarez is in bad shape, we all see that, but there are statistics. Here it is how it stands:

Luis Suarez - 90 league goals.
David Villa - 34 league goals
Alexis - 39 league goals
Pedro - 58 league goals

As impact in the Champions League Suarez is on par with David Villa and Pedro, who both scored goals in the 2011 CL final, while Suarez' predator goal against Juventus in 2015 CL final and the destruction of PSG at Parc des Princes are standing out.

He was not training today.

Most of the outfield players who are not in the squad for copa/not fully fit (Leo, Don, Busi, Alba, Gomes and Big Sam), were doing target practice today. He and Rakitić were not there.
