Suarez: "I very much regret playing against Leganes last season just before our UCL's match against Roma despite having a comfortable points lead in La Liga."

So basically Suarez confirmed that Valverde doesn't decide who plays and who doesn't.

Its what i have been saying all along, that the being coach for Barca is one of the easiest coaching jobs around, the players coach themselves, as was also proven when Barca won the league with 100 points basically without a coach that one year.
Pep has proven himself elsewhere, i actually rate him, the rest that came after? Cant tell until they have proven themselves elsewhere.

Good joke. Being Barca coach is one of the most demanding coaching jobs in the world. Coaches burnout after few years. The expectations every year are sky high. It's not easy handle that.

It seems like Valverde asks players if they want to play and if they say yes they play. If they say no, then he goes down the list. If the players prefer to play Fortnite instead of football, and only 8-9 players give their consent to enter the field, then Valverde urgently proceeds to call Barca B players. If they are minors, he asks their legal guardians for permission to use them on the football pitch in those 2 hours.

Mistery solved. Barca B players don't ever play in the first team in La Liga because Valverde never found 14-18 players who didn't want to play in a game.
