Luis Suárez

Even worse if we look at his level post Berlin.

Terrible I know but that’s expected when we didn’t make a semi final in that time. Striker underperforming usually means you won’t do well in a competition for example Benzema has always been great in the CL over the last few years.

If we win the CL with Suarez only scoring 1 goal it would only be topped by Giroud winning the World Cup without scoring (or getting a shot on target) lol

How mad is it that we’re in a CL semi final and he’s only scored 1 goal in the competition this year

Not really mad. Benzema didn't score a knockout goal in 2 out of Madrid's 3 CL wins and the ones he scored last season were gifts by Karius and Ulreich.

Suarez contributes enough, unless we're going to pretend he did not make the goal away vs. United or played a big role in the Messi tap-in against Liverpool. His movement is also second to none. Messi never scores that first goal against United in Camp Nou without Suarez opening up the pitch for him.

Cmon now, that shot before Messi's tap in was tragic. He should've scored that. Yet, he hit the crossbar. Not a tragic miss like Dembele's, but still a huge one.

Luis Suárez since 2016-17 season: 5 UCL-goals in 28 games

Karim Benzema since 2016-17 season: 14 UCL-goals in 30 games

For someone with the reputation as the best out-and-out striker of 2010s decade, it's honestly quite an embarrasing stat for Suárez.

Barca will play great football against Ajax and be more clinical in the finish.
It will be similar as to how Barca played against Sevilla in Copa.

That is my dream scenario as well. We are capable, and I could see it happen.

Then, everyone including Cruyffistas can appreciate our win instead of hoping that we lose, because Ajax is more true to the Cruyff religion.

It's embarrassing. Anyone have statistics how many shots on goal he had dur9ng this time? It's been bad luck imo as well.

No it is not embarrassing, it is cherry picking to produce a biased narrative. Look at his goal record in la liga. Why would one exclude the goals from the season prior. Why not account for his assists and combo play leading to goals. Why not look at overall performance metrics. It is a case of stringing together a convenient series of otherwise disjointed matched and focusing on a single stat. Valverde, his teammates and those with a more holistic view of the game know better.

I don’t think any Barca fans want us to lose ... just to replace Valverde .

In saying all that ... If we were to go out of the CL tonight .. maybe on penalties or something.. would that be the end of Valverde??

He's not going anywhere, even if we lose.
