Luis Suárez

Although i don't like Griezmann i almost start to think he would be a good fit, with another coach that can build a more flexible, mobile front 3.

I'm also not a Griezmann fan but you are right, he is versatile and flexible and that's something needed.
He is also one meter shorter than Suarez, but still very good with his headers, which is an important factor.

He should go! I love Luis, he is a true legend of this sport but let's look the truth in the eyes. Let's not talk about his scoring capabilities or his clear decline, problem lies somewhere else. Only ONE player can be excused for not playing defense and that's Messi. And even that bothers me but we can compensate ONE PLAYER in defense. There is no room for one more. And that's the entire truth whether we like it or not.

Apart from Valverde this is our biggest problem, we simply can't defend with 8 players against strong teams in CL.

That's a good point.

But lemme tell you another:
Yesterday he said the players need to be self-critical after the fiasco. Right.
But - by still loving him a lot - I'm asking: is he, has he been self-critical lately?

IS he aware of his dramatically bad performances? Not all performances, but just the majority of them.

Is he self-critical when he often literally does nothing useful in a game but keeps on shouting at the other players, giving them instructions all the time, gesticulates like a marionette and is offside 50% of the time?

Is he aware that by this mentality of his, he actually scares and confuses the others?

any player at this level that gets scared by a team mate shouting at them shouldnt be playing for a top team like barcelona.. suarez has been pretty shit, but the one thing i dont mind is his intensity, if we had a few more players (and a coach) like him shouting and pushing the team we wouldnt be in this situationg

Get out of this team you POS.

And people had the nerves to say that this abomination was better than Ronaldo or Eto'o.

1 goal in 21 CL games FFS.

Fucking current 40 years old Eto'o would play better than this trash even today if served by Messi all the games.

GET TF OUT.

No way, it just doesn't work like that on the pitch...
Players need to support and help each other, so it's a collective effort.

If two are shouting but the rest of them simply try to follow, the result is a mess.
If all players are shouting, it's a disaster.

If one of the elderly and untouchable players shout at you, it is easier to confuse you, it's hardly provides any motivation.

Intensity is not shouting.
When you are pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed, you will definitely under-perform.

The "push" needs to come internally, from inside and that makes it possible to accomplish risky moves with confidence.
External pushing however fleeces off confidence... and all that remains is stiffness and convulsion...

It can be important to sometimes shout at a teammate, for example if he does an unnecessary trick that loses the ball, doesn't do his work on defense etc. I mean we all know that sometimes you need someone just straight up telling you to get your shit together. Not only in football.

But Suarez does it constantly and not just if something really stupid happens but pretty much after every action that wasn't executed how he wanted it.

And that's just toxic for a team. Imagine being young, criticized a lot, under pressure like Dembele and then after every failed action old Suarez is shouting at you. There is a time and a place for everything but he can't constantly do that.

ESPECIALLY since he isn't a good example himself. If he was still on top of his game, playing brilliant every game then yeah ok it would still be kinda rough but you could argue he has the right to do that but the thing is that he is the killer of many Barca attacks himself. Luis Suarez would shout at Luis Suarez every game for making simple mistakes.

Top level players need to be mentally strong in general but after all they are still humans, often even pretty young ones. Not everyone can just take that so easy.

This will always be held against Suárez whenever people tries to argue Suárez as the best out-and-out striker of 2010s decade.

Also, Suárez has been ridiculously wasteful in LaLiga despite having 21 LaLiga goals this season.

Just look at Benzema (as RM's first scoring option) who also has made 21 goals, but is far being wasteful like Suárez.

And Benzema is playing for a very underperforming Real Madrid team where noone has made LaLiga goals in double-digits.

Never mind that he doesen't have a player like Messi, Dembele etc. who can consistently delivers quality service non stop.

We would've probably won LaLiga even without Suárez while Real Madrid plays in Europa League without Benzema.

Suarez is no way a good striker he sucks even at being at number 9,
the amount of chances he get to score is a lotttttt thats why he scored
21 goals, but look at how many chances his didnt score, any attacker
would score the same goals he scored or even more, look at ben yadder
he only wasted 16 big chances

He is a sureshot consistent goalscorer for us, don't know why people want him gone.

He is garbage in everything that is not scoring but he does score a lot at least.

We have 27381336328 problems to fix and if we fix them then maybe we can think about replacing suarez.

He hasn't been a consistent goalscorer for like 2 seasons now. He's been missing big chances the past 2 seasons. And of course he's going to get goals, he has Messi setting him up.

The guy has only scored 5 goals in the past 3 seasons of the Champions League. The fact we have no backup strikers is shocking to say the least. Plus, he's 33 next year. Time to get rid while we can still get some money for him. Get in a striker with some pace and who can finish.

Suarez was awesome in his prime but the time has come for him to leave the club, we need a young and hungry number 9.

I've seen some links with Lacazette. He'd be a good replacement IMO and attainable. Works hard from the front, technically good and a quality finisher.
