How many times have we heard that " He has lost weight... old Suarez is back" on this website? It's never going to happen. He will be as always, hot and cold in La Liga, underwhelming in the CL. That is Luis , these days.
Suárez in his current state and age (turning 33 years in a few months time) could turn into the most lethal sub in the world if he was ready to accept that he cannot/should not be an automatic starter anymore.
Imagine a fresh Suárez coming on with 30-35 minutes left against tired defenders. He would create a lot of havoc and a lot of his current weaknesses would be covered better. A bit like yesterday night.
A much more prolific and more used Henke in other words.
However knowing the mind of an elite footballer like Suárez with his track record for Barça and achievements in his career, such a thing (even though it would benefit himself, prolong his career and help improve our team) would be difficult especially at a club that is currently run by the "club de amigos" clan.
I could see Suárez stay for the reminder of his contract at the club in such a role while being successful. Would be a great thing and do his Barça career more justice than if he left next summer or in 2021, after stinking the place up due to constantly playing whenever ready.
