Luis Suárez

These last two games have been classic Suarez shitshow. He is back to looking like a fan that has won some sort of competition

He almost refuses to hold up ball and bring others into play.

Unless Messi is on he tries some ridiculous turn, dribble or pass and loses it.

Dont have a striker that brings others into play and dont have a midfielder that will try to dictate tempo as Messi drops deep and plays it like a second srtiker taking risks.

There is no balance at all with those two playing like that and all left to individual moments of brilliance to win.

He's been injured for a while so naturally rusty, but he's a 33 year old striker that just had a major knee surgery. The club's fault for not moving on from him

Shouldn't be used full 90 minutes, how you can put 33yo full match after that kind of injury

I think he decides himself. Like Valverde Setien also doesbt have the balls to bench Suarez or make anyone of the veterans angry.

Suarez should be a supersub/rotation player at this point if he wants to stay at this club.
Take a wage cut and do that. Not have power to be an undispured starter at 33 cause he is friends with Messi or what he did a few years ago.
Football doesnt work like that. You adapt and improve or fall back.
And if he doesnt want ti he should move on.
Worst part is it should have happened like that 2 years ago.

I dont think it was unreasonable to play him for 90 minutes (after the decision was made to start him). He was bad, but still our only no 9. I trust him in the center more than any of our other players (especially Griezmann).

It would have been wiser to use him as an impact sub though (probably).

Sad part is Suarez will most like get a contract extension and be at Barca until 35.

Messi will continue to force ball to him and he will play like shit but have decent stats as a result and be used to justify him as still a top striker.

For his own reputation the best thing Setien could do is state the changes that need to be made to board and when they refuse resign and make public how squad is impossible to manage.

It has got to point for me that would take Messi leaving and a couple of years of no titles to rebuild if he tried to oppose the changes needed.

Problem is we fucked up again and again after Neymar left. I somewhat understand why those two like to play between them(aside from their friendship) - the other options are terrible. Dembele is dead, Griezmann and Braithwaite are shite. So the only options would be the midfielders or fullbacks. In midfield we are dead, maybe Frenkie has some spark in attack. On fullbacks we have Alba who usually is good in attack and Semedo who is all but dead when going forward.

Setien caring about his reputation? Your having a laugh mate. The man was a cow herder when we got him. Wake up, he ain't Carlo Ancelotti

It will be interesting to see if he does get a new contract. I think he clearly would like one. We definitely should let him go in 2021 for sure imo
