Tbf, the striker market isn't as bad as it looked at the start of season.
We have Moise Kean, Rashford, Joao Felix, Nicholas Pepe, who are on par with Jovic, in terms of potential.
Then we have cheaper options like Alexander Isak, Maxi Gomez, Sébastien Haller.
I'd say the striker market is as bad as it seemed, just listing a bunch of players doesn't change that. It's normal that we have some newer names every season but nobody outstanding, if anything then Jovic is the most promising young 9 out of all of them.
All of these guys are either extremely overpriced, not available at all or not good enough and half of them aren't even CFs what means it doesn't help us IF we are looking for a real striker. (What i think we do)
And the "cheap" options look quite bad imo, these are like Paco level substitutes but no chance to become a starter in the near future.
Idk why some people here seem to like Pepe as a new striker. He is very quick, but besides that? Doesn't impress me all that much. Seems more like a 2nd tier winger like Douglas Costa to me. Decision making and technical abilities doesn't seem to be good enough for our style, and i don't think he would be good as a CF here at all. He seems to be best for a counter attacking side like Lille, same for Werner. If we talk like 30M or maybe up to Malcoms price ok, but apparantly Lille wants to make big money on this guy. He would probably end up as a 1-1 replacement for Malcom anyway with makimg almost no games on RW and Suarez playing the fast majority of games on CF.
Still no perfect striker for us in sight even with some new names in the mix.
