As a Croat, I must admit even I was never really that much impressed with Modrić, but in the past 2 years or so, he's really made a name for himself. And I agree with you, if there's a player close enough in style and ability to be Xavi's replacement, it's him.

Plus, he's a cule.

And worships Iniesta.

Strange considering that he's been largely inconsistent since moving to Spain, where as he was phenomenal for Spurs and great for Croatia at Euro 2008. I agree with the Xavi comparison though, he's like a crossbreed of Xavi and Iniesta. Not as good though.
