Depends what you understand by 'slowing down'. Morten is right on this one, broadly.

His level of skill hasn't waned with age. Diet helped him stay mobile and keep that deadly take-on instead of descending into a total turtle that loses the ball a lot, like Marcelo for example.

Yeah. He's obviously regressed from his prime as you should at 35, but he certainly doesn't look 35. Still has most of that energy and motivation. He's enjoyable to watch to be honest.

When people talk about superhuman players, freaks of nature, they mention guys like Ronaldo and Zlatan. But this guy deserves the same recognition, playing every game without rest at 36 years, and still being class and dominating games. What a player. :worthy:

He is up there with Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo and other midfield greats. This is no argument. His game has aged like fine wine.

The way he played today is what I honestly expected to see Messi play . Especially passing wise

Up there?

He is better than all of them

While they were playing MLS and in Japan or Qatar, he is vossing champions league games at 36 and is a Balon Dor winner

Modric is better than Iniesta.

He's right up there with Xavi and Zidane.

Amazing longevity and oh so clutch

Right after Xavi and Iniesta who are pretty much untouchable in midfield. Better than all of Pirlo, Scholes, Schweinsteiger and others.
