To date Malcom has shown more in the very restrictive number of minutes that he has received than Coutinho who has played 7-8 times the minutes. To start with he has never stunk up the place like Coutinho has been doing for MONTHS at a time by now. Most evident by his horrible 15 minute performance against RM where he managed to loss the ball twice in an insanely stupid fashion and gave RM two free counters that in a worst case scenario could have costed us 2 points.
Let us not even talk about Coutinho's horrible attitude, lack of pace and how little he actually creates.
Malcom is always working hard defensively, running, making himself available and has as many goals to his name (excluding the penalties that Coutinho converted) as Coutinho. 5 years younger. Completely unfamiliar with La Liga and the team unlike Coutinho who has played much more.
To not give Malcom more playing time while Coutinho is stinking the place up is quite frankly a great injustice. There is no logical explanation behind this. I could understand if Malcom was as bad or even worse but that has clearly not been the case. His most recent performance was a MoM performance against RM in his first game against them in his career. In what world does that performance warrant being frozen out of the squad and not having played even 1 single second since that very same performance?
Why the hell did we buy him in the first place? In such a fashion moreover (hijacking Roma's bid). If not to play him at all? Shocking stuff. Truly shocking.
Not once have we seen (as far as I recall) a trio of Malcom, Messi and Dembéle or a trio of Malcom, Suárez and Dembélé. Not freaking once. Has Malcom even played a full game yet?
Same with Dembélé. How many full games has he actually played since his move almost 2 years ago? 4? 5 full games?
No fucking wonder that Malcom is unproven. The kid has not got a chance and when he got a chance in a very important high-profile game (CdR semifinal against RM at the Camp Nou - against a RM that was finding form and could still, in theory, win all 3 competitions) he scores and arguably has a MoM performance (granted the team was not great that game but still) and his "reward" is to be frozen out completely and not play a single second since that performance. In what world does that make sense?
Expect him to play some 180 minutes (the equivalent of 2 full games) for the reminder of the season and to be shipped on in the summer and be deemed as a flop while in reality he never got the chance and when he got it he did surprisingly well all things considered most of the time.
That is not the right way to treat a youngster or even any signing. He cost us €40 million. So not €160 freaking million (
) like our "beloved" Coutinho did but still a substantial amount of money. KPB and Murillo are trash. We all know that even before they signed and they were only loaned for the reminder of the season (basically 5 months) but Malcom is another case altogether and not comparable.
