Malcom

The way that Valverde has treated him (more precisely ignored him completely) is shocking and a complete and utter waste. Even more baffling and insane given his arguably MoM appearance against RM in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal.

This lack of continuous playing time does obviously not help the player nor the club since his value is not increasing, rather the opposite. There have been plenty of games where Malcom could have played a role this season. We could have had a young and talented player with an eye for a goal and the final pass coming off the bench full of confidence at this crucial stage of the season where we have at most 20 games left in all 3 tournaments. Instead we most likely have a very frustrated player who does not understand why he was bought since he is barely ever playing.

It is infuriating to see such a treatment even more so when the likes of Coutinho (€160 million  ) are stinking up the place completely and on top of that having a terrible attitude.

Messi plays all the time, so that means Messi must be moved or benched. Playing Malcom as a striker or left forward is a waste. He's a right forward.

Nothing wrong with moving or resting Messi before a CL game.

I also doubt that Malcom would be a bigger waste as a left forwards than Coutinho.

To date Malcom has shown more in the very restrictive number of minutes that he has received than Coutinho who has played 7-8 times the minutes. To start with he has never stunk up the place like Coutinho has been doing for MONTHS at a time by now. Most evident by his horrible 15 minute performance against RM where he managed to loss the ball twice in an insanely stupid fashion and gave RM two free counters that in a worst case scenario could have costed us 2 points.

Let us not even talk about Coutinho's horrible attitude, lack of pace and how little he actually creates.

Malcom is always working hard defensively, running, making himself available and has as many goals to his name (excluding the penalties that Coutinho converted) as Coutinho. 5 years younger. Completely unfamiliar with La Liga and the team unlike Coutinho who has played much more.

To not give Malcom more playing time while Coutinho is stinking the place up is quite frankly a great injustice. There is no logical explanation behind this. I could understand if Malcom was as bad or even worse but that has clearly not been the case. His most recent performance was a MoM performance against RM in his first game against them in his career. In what world does that performance warrant being frozen out of the squad and not having played even 1 single second since that very same performance?

Why the hell did we buy him in the first place? In such a fashion moreover (hijacking Roma's bid). If not to play him at all? Shocking stuff. Truly shocking.

Not once have we seen (as far as I recall) a trio of Malcom, Messi and Dembéle or a trio of Malcom, Suárez and Dembélé. Not freaking once. Has Malcom even played a full game yet?

Same with Dembélé. How many full games has he actually played since his move almost 2 years ago? 4? 5 full games?

No fucking wonder that Malcom is unproven. The kid has not got a chance and when he got a chance in a very important high-profile game (CdR semifinal against RM at the Camp Nou - against a RM that was finding form and could still, in theory, win all 3 competitions) he scores and arguably has a MoM performance (granted the team was not great that game but still) and his "reward" is to be frozen out completely and not play a single second since that performance. In what world does that make sense?

Expect him to play some 180 minutes (the equivalent of 2 full games) for the reminder of the season and to be shipped on in the summer and be deemed as a flop while in reality he never got the chance and when he got it he did surprisingly well all things considered most of the time.

That is not the right way to treat a youngster or even any signing. He cost us €40 million. So not €160 freaking million ( ) like our "beloved" Coutinho did but still a substantial amount of money. KPB and Murillo are trash. We all know that even before they signed and they were only loaned for the reminder of the season (basically 5 months) but Malcom is another case altogether and not comparable.

This. Malcom deserves more, the few times he played I really liked his attitude something what not can be said on coutinho. Malcom fights for every ball and when he pass the ball he makes runs, I'm always have the feeling when coutinho gets the ball and he pass it to a teammate he runs to a position where he never can have the ball back to make an action towards the goal. Really strange. I like to see Malcom get more minutes from now on with big games ahead in cl. Our players need to be fresh and we need players on the bench with match rhythm and confidence.

You would expect a player like Malcom to play more in LaLiga now so that the Gala11 can be kept fresh for the assault on the Champions League. He had some stinkers, but he also showed he could hang with a great performance against Madrid and an impressive cameo versus Inter.

Still I suspect his minutes will be few and far between until LaLiga is wrapped up.

Valverde trusts the 11 of Saturday + Coutinho, Umtiti, Semedo, Vidal, Alena, Cillessen. Malcom is his 18th man.

Its more likely his subs and rotations in attack will be focused on bringing out the best of Coutinho and Dembele than giving Malcom a sniff.

Its a shame. This summer we will have to decide if we give him another season or trade him for someone similar but right footed.

With the credit Valverde has built up over the Clasicos he will get the signings more in line with what he wants.

Didnt saw the game but just watched the highlights of the game and he looked pretty good. Cant get my head around why he is not being played more. Hope he starts against Rayo. He really deserves it. We bought him for fucking 40million euro use him ffs so he is match ready. We need a supersub in the CL incase we make a PSG and need a last minut goal. Coutinho is dogshit right now and wont offer anything offensive if we are in trouble.
