Right, there we are. Both charts are now including the CdR tie against Sociedad.
Massive thanks Trickykid. Iniesta re-inforces his status as a big-game player of the highest order.
Keep up the good work.
Tell that to the people who want Iniesta to be moved to the right wing so we can accommodate the mighty Fabregas.
My agenda is clear anyway: Fabregas out!
I agree that's not a bright idea. I'd sell Fabregas too, in fact I've advocated for it multiple times, but not if there aren't better options available. I'd sell him only if we bought Gundogan or Kroos. Certainly not inferior players like Rakitic as was suggested after his good game vs Madrid. We can't forget that Fabregas was bought with the post-Xavi future in mind. Unless a really high-calibre midfielder is available, he's here to stay.
Insults like Crapregas are not necessary every week.
I think it's because there were people saying Cesc doesn't disappear in all big games. I actually didn't think it'd be this bad, Cesc with zero.
But you should also consider that in the majority of the big games that Fabregas has played in, he's had Iniesta on the LW which undeniably restricts his game play. Also played at false 9 and we all know that's a stop gap measure as he's not talented enough for that position vs the better teams. We've never played Cesc-Busquets-Xavi with 3 forwards or Cesc-Busquets-Iniesta with 3 forwards against the better teams, it's hard to judge Fabregas' true worth as those formations bring out the best in him.
I agree that he looks lost a lot of the times, but it's up to a personal interpretation whether that is because of tactics/instructions or just the players' style of play. Ursegor, for example, believes that roaming around at the CF position is Fabregas' natural game. Having followed him at Arsenal and for the national team (when a striker plays), I don't have an inkling as to how he came to this conclusion. I think it's very clearly a deliberate tactic, at Barcelona, because it utilises his strengths (1-2s and movement) and keeps him away from his weakness (losing the ball in the build up/awareness). And he's consistently played despite being poor, which leads me to believe that he's doing what is asked of him.
I want to see how Fabregas plays after Xavi retires, when he doesn't have a giant shadow looming over him.
