Hard to find mistakes, excellent team performance.

While the usual suspects were entertaining and productive (hence garnering the most attention above), credit where credit is due, on the *decisive* player/moments:

1. Adriano - scored the winning goal with a pinpoint unstoppable outside shot to the far side net within the first 90 seconds. Most important moment of the match. Continued to play excellently in attack and defense.
2. Valdes- kept Rayo from getting on the sheets and back in the game.
3. Puyol- some key tackles broke up several of the few times Rayo threatened

HM
Mascherano, key tackles at end of game
Messi, for not walking all game, even tracked back on a Rayo counter

The hipsterism is strong in this one.

Wow, it is a difficult call. Really wanted to give this to Iniesta for those elegant moments of magic. Great to have him "back."
Anyway I thought Messi and Fabregas had slightly more of those magical moments:

Messi
Cesc
Iniesta

Awesome performances from everyone!

1. Messi - how magical is he? His goal to tie Di Stefano was a superb chip from outside of the box. Simply the best.
2. Iniesta - they said the Don and Cesc can't run a midfield, well they over ran it.
3. Cesc - 105 passes, 7 through passes, 3 key passes, 2 assists. They say he can't do Xavi's job.

Random fact(s) of the round
- For the first time in the history of the rankings someone takes 1st spot 5 matches in a row, as Messi claims 5 gold medals in just 16 days.
- For the second time this season we have the exact same lineup as we did last round with Messi, Iniesta and Fabregas as number 1, 2 and 3.
- It's been 14 matches since Neymar last featured in the starting XI. In that period, Messi has managed 8 1st spots and one 2nd.

Semi-Neutral

Sir Alupp Heynrguson
vs. Manchester City

1. Pique - Got the best of Negredo, Silva, and Dzeko, was comfortable in possession, and was robbed of a goal by poor refereeing, great game
2. Dani - Gave away a few silly fouls at the start of the game which immediately prompted cynical comments, but grew into the game, contributed well in the attacking third and took his goal with aplomb
3. Messi - Although he wasn't dominating the game, he looked great whenever he had the ball, and was the ultimately the difference for us

Honorable Mentions - Mascherano, Iniesta, everyone

Great performance!! :barca scarf:
