I think he'd help us but there is a concern about his price, our wage bill and to an extent, his age.
Would like to see a young forward learning from MSN.

If we are to believe the newspapers we are no longer interested in him because he is too expensive. Only loans are possible but there's no way Celta will loan out Nolito.

We dont need yet another 30 year old signing in the summer. We are turning into an old age home the way things are going and it is very short sighted as we wont have the money to splash 1 billion euros++ to replace all our players in their 30s at the same time (Messi, Suarez, Pique, Alves, Iniesta, Rakitic, Busquets, Arda, Bravo, Mascherano, Vermaelen, Mathieu).

It seems Lucho is obsessed with Nolito.

His obsession is reasonable though. former Barca B player, experienced, won't complain on bench, playing his best football of his career, can play as central striker or winger. I think our best option is to just buy a young and promising striker that can also play as winger that can be a long term solution. I'm thinking about Dybala but it would cost us a lot of money for a backup forward.

He's a great player but he can only play in Neymar's position. It's a pure luxury signing. I agree with you that we are better off with a much more versatile forward who is much younger and has better value, like Thomas Lemar, Sofiane Boufal or Iniaki Williams.

Maybe we could wait a couple more transfer windows to sign Nolito.

Or maybe wait until his contract expires and get him for free? By the way, when will his contract expire? At this point, what we should prioritize is the age. We need more younger players at the age of 20-23. Right now we still don't have one from CB to Forwards. I don't consider Bartra since we're not sure if he'll stay next season. Neymar, Rafinha and Halilovic our only good players who are at that age.

it's funny that Bayern got Lewandowski for free while we're trying to get an older backup forward for more than 15M. They really hit the jackpot on that one. I really think we should sell Douglas, Adriano, Masip, Sandro and Munir at the end of season to raise money for a young and promising backup forward. I kinda envy Simeone and Atletico for almost always getting good deals from South American clubs like Kranevitter, Correa etc. Simeone is really good at spotting quality South American players.

1. Lewy had his mind set on leaving to Bayern a long time back. He wasn't ready to accept a renewed contract with Dortmund. Dortmund fel that it would be more profitable to let him stay for a season, than selling him and gaining money, but no proper replacement. That isn't some genius business by Bayern. Sure, it makes sense economically, but we totally overlook the influence that Lewandoski had on that move.

2. Kranevitter and Correra are known talents from South America, it doesn't take a genius to spot them. Also, Atletico are fundamentally different from Barcelona. Atletico are like Porto, Befica etc. they have great scouts and buy players, make them WC before selling. Barcelona is not that kind of club. Barcelona can't afford to buy young talent just to be on the bench. That would essentially be showing a middle finger to La Masia. It would make more sense if Barcelona buy talented players from South America, and let them play in the youth system, and if they're talented enough, break into the first team.
