It's like pressing the triangle button to have your goalkeeper charge out on FIFA.

It's the whole package of shot-blocking ability, sweeping and also goal kicks and throw-outs.
I think Cesar Luis Menotti is spot-on in his verdict. There is/was not one who has combined all aspects to such a degree that Neuer managed.

I never saw that before. Neuer has invented actually defending as a goalkeeper with tackles. You're right he's probably the most complete keeper ever.

When was his last big blunder that led to a goal? Even I don't really remember it, and I watch all Bayern matches and most national team matches.
He had his occasional blunders earlier in his career and even 2 or 3 just 1 or 2 seasons ago, but mostly in unimportant matches and these days, he rarely ever fails.

And he's still only 28, so shouldn't even be in his prime yet. He made some silly mistakes in his first season with Bayern (see the 2-5 against Dortmund), but after that he's been very consistent.

Would be the perfect keeper for Barca really, because he allows his team to play with an insanely high defensive line. Maybe Ter Stegen can make a similar development.

It was indeed a clear foul on Higuain but it's not like it was the ref's only mistake. All in all he allowed way too much and that challenge by Höwedes was a clear red.
