Yep, as always you were probably tuned in to the wrong channel. Anyways, I'm assuming that your 'opinion' on this performance is based selectively on the 5 seconds where he had a brain fart (which by the way he rectified himself), and not on the remaining minutes where he held his own, positioned himself well (unlike Masch), then please, be my guest.

He seems to struggle in passing and just go for clearing the ball which means losing the ball more often, still a few steps ahead of him to compete for a fixed place in the team. but for a back-up, he's just good.

I like Bartra, I can see him becoming a solid squad player. Still needs some experience, but he's clearly got what it takes.

I blame that on lack of mins...which translates to lack of composure and confidence on the ball. It will come with time, but so far he's been alright. Not sure i approve of Tito's handling of him. Starting the Adrianos, Songs against the weaker sides, when it could instead be used to bring him in. Taking him off(after that mistake) but leaving the underperforming masch wouldn't 've helped his confidence tonight. It's not like Piqué's intro brought any drastic change to the backline.

Also i don't know what some people were expecting of a player in his debut season. Consistent A+ performances? It's easy to forget Pique's errors in his first season(and he made plenty of them), but Pep the youth developer that he was continue to play him inspite of that. And the reward is there for all to see.

he's the best CB prospect we've got so we might as well give him plenty of 1st team game time IMO. he needs experience to help him fulfil his potential.

i want to see as much of him as possible, see how he does with Pique etc. If he does well there may not be a need for someone like Hummels in the summer. I reckon we'll go for a CB this summer and then Neymar next summer but if Bartra proves he is a genuine 1st team starter like Thiago & Montoya have done then we can save some money.

by the end of this season i'd like to know if Montoya, Bartra, Pique, Alba could realistically be our starting back four going forward.

I hope that too :) But considering our injuries in the past couple of years, we are gonna need a really good CB like Hummels. We have probably the best pair of CB in the world but tell me how many of our last 50 matches Pique n Puyi played together in full 90 minutes ? :(
