Marc Bartra

Am I really the only one who notices his constant use of his hands when tackling a player?
Looks solid on the ball but without it.. I really don't see almost anything in him that constitutes a solid defender.

He is using more hands yes, but that can stop with experience and more playing time with more tests. Once he's punished for using his hands in tackling I think he'll stop.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
He was ok, especially for someone who has seen very few minutes if first division matches... Not sure if he should partner Piqué in upcoming important matches, but at least he's getting to play...

He did it once today and once in that game against Celta or whichever was his first in the recent spell. And to be honest, in that game, he was pulled down first.

he was solid, not tested really, because zaragoza where not good, but still. third time in a row he played 90 minutes in la liga!!! hes getting better with every minute he plays.

Marc Bartra today recovered 10 balls and didn't lose any in the Liga game against Zaragoza

Good on the ball, for sure.

I could be mistaken then but to me it does look he uses his hands way too much. I know he's weak and slow but he really shouldn't be doing such a schoolboy mistake.

Hope he proves me wrong in the end.

It's true, though, he does it more often than seasoned defenders do, but he'll probably cut it out as soon as he realizes he'll get in trouble for it.

vs Zaragoza Away

Did okay today, although it was hard to judge his defensive capabilities as he wasn't really tested by Zaragoza.

He played a few too many long passes today for my liking, but I think this may have been his instructions from MGMT.

Considering he was only alongside one of the permanent Back-Four ... Good job :bartra:

He will partner Pique in the first leg against Bayern, as Puyol, Masch and Adriano are all out. Adriano will be back for the second leg though, and the other 2 might be.

I think he'll do a decent job against Bayern, as he did when he came on for Adriano in the second leg against PSG. And tbh, I think he should become the 4th choice CB ahead of Adriano (and behind Pique, Puyol and Masch) now.

Btw, with Bartra's recent performances, I'm starting to think that one CB should be enough. Pique and the new CB as the starting CBs with Puyol, Masch and Bartra as backups should be good enough. Still wouldn't mind if we got 2 CBs, though that would probably mean we'd need to loan Bartra for more playing time...

If we don't press properly, It wouldn't matter how good bartra will perform, Yet i'm sure he'll do his part well.
