I reckon he will end up signing a new deal.

Why is VERRATTI and his agent always playing games? Submit a transfer request and let negotiations begin.

He will cost minimum 90 million. Someone like Seri will cost 40 million.

Italians haven't done well in Barca or la liga in general.

What makes people so sure he will succeed here????

Even if he wants out we will not get him easily. There will be Bayern, Chelsea, Juve and also Real Madrid ( having sold James) who will also pursue him and also other top teams. I imagine he'll demand a huge salary, witch we can't really afford with the new Messi deal and possibly Iniesta. We'll need to sell some big earners lile Masche or Rakitic.

If he seriously wants out, throw 150m at PSG if necessary. After Pogba, I would be incredibly surprised to see him go for any less than 120.

This is most likely bullshit his agent is stirring up for a better salary but we can't miss this opportunity if it's for real. We would have the advantage over Madrid et al in that our midfield is shit and he'd walk into it no questions asked. Biggest competition would be Juve imo.

If he told PSG he wants out and hands in a transfer request, that is completely different from a rumor in the newspaper.

What is Him telling PSG that he wants out and him handing in a transfer request if not a rumor again?

However, even if he did do those things, the ball is firmly in Khelaifi's court! You don't just sign a 5 year contract and then dream of holding him for ransom in a matter of 6 months. It just does not work like that.

Unless and until Qatar run out of money and they are desperate to sell him, Verratti can't do shit

Sure, if PSG doesn't want to sell him, technically he can't go. But would it be worth it to force a star player to stay against their will? What would that do to the locker room? How contentious might the atmosphere become? Do you see the point? There are a number of things that could go wrong if you keep a disgruntled player.

Just give him another half a million in wages and the said star player has never really wanted to move and he wants to retire as a legend at Paris!

Been there, done that!

They've already closed the door on him. They're not out of options.

1. Verratti renews with a 10 mill/year salary
2. Verratti stays on his 6 mill/year salary until the year before his contract expires.

Too bad Verratti and/or his agents are terrible at business. He's been underpaid for years and on a long contract.

That depends on the player really. You have cases like Payet but those are actually rare and therfor newsworthy. Most often however you have those cases that you never hear about, where a player asks for a transfer, the club says "nope", and the player will accept it, not make a drama for the news and stay professional until the next transfer window where he tries his luck again. Of course clubs will most likely not be able to tie down a player that wants out for the whole length of his 4-5 year contract, but 1-2 years, depending on contract situation and the players cooperation are usually normal.

Also Payet is a dick and West Ham weren't nearly in the same position of strength that PSG was in.

Still I bet Payet came close to being closeted for a year which would have ended his career. He's an asshole who pulled this trick before.

Verratti is a class player. He is among top 3 CM's and has everything to be successful at Barca. Even if we pay 120m for him it's still a win. But i doubt if he really wants out or the whole thing is a play to increase salary.
