Tarin might be another Grimaldo situation. Both are talented but probably not rated as highly by Lucho and the Technical staff.

Let's hope not. We might end up regretting the Grimaldo decision/situation.

Seems like the Pecking order in CB's from Barca B he likes are.

1. Marlon 2. Martinez 3. Lopez. 4. Tarin 5. Villanova?

Well this is going by Preseason and training sessions with the first team. Marlon is Lucho's favorite by far as he's constantly training with the first team. Not surprised by Lopez since he's been good for the B team and he's tall and really good with the ball but Martinez over Tarin? :/

But like I said this is just my opinion on what I've seen. Although it's pretty clear that Tarin isn't getting a sniff so far in regards to the first team for unknown reasons other than Lucho possibly not rating him highly.

It's annoying as hell, because Tarin is better than Martinez and Lopez. He's a fucking starter for the B team and was perhaps the best player of the team last season.

I'm starting to think Lucho doesn't trust La Masia CBs or the current batch of Barca B La Masia defenders in general.

I know he coached guys like Montoya,Bartra,Muniesa,Fontas,Gomez etc with the B team but Montoya and Bartra were present when he came back and Montoya got the stick and Bartra wasn't trusted at all and eventually left this summer.

Martinez has started all games, but he's been really shaky and it's most likely due to lack of better. Tarin has been good. Him and Marlon are the two best CB's, but Lopez is a LCB and they might prefer to have that on the team (they constantly played Gumbau there even though he was crap). It's more like:

1. Lopez 2. Marlon/Tarin 4. Martinez 5. Vilanova.

Marlon impressed in his first start great positioning, passing and was strong in the air. His composure is really impressive for his first game, hopefully he can keep it up. I really want to see how he works with Tarin.

Me too... Hope he doesn't block Tarin's minutes, which shouldn't be a problem because Tarin is far better than Martinez, but Lopez likes LCB's..

The 1st team played several seasons with no LCB. While it's obviously great to have one, it's not worth it if the guy is not that good.

I really hope we don't lose Tarin now too, just so Gerard can continue with his fixation with Martinez.

And if he doesn't, then Lucho can at the very least call Tarin up to train with the 1st team, but that doesn't seem like it's happening either. I don't really get it. Tarin has been one of the best defensive prospects and was good last season, def in top 3 for Barca B, and he's benched for a new guy and even seeing them getting a call-up for the 1st team.

What message are Gerard and Lucho sending? Do great, but you're still going to be behind newcomers who aren't convincing?

I think Gerard thinks Martinez is doing a "Solid" job in his eyes and he doesn't want to bench him despite guys like Marlon,Lopez and Tarin being superior to him.
